Buy it. The seller says it's been on a rolling road and has 67hp. The 120L was only something like 49 hp, so this should be quite lively, relatively speaking.

It would be a shame to let the little car go to waste.

I remember back in 1847, going to the London Motor Show and there was the Skoda Estelle Sport, in white. That was back in the 80's and they wanted £6995 for it..

Something oddly endearing. Not sure if owning one would be as much fun.

Did you drive there at 88 miles per hour?

Noice. That footwell looks rather awkward though.

They were never £6995, you would have probably got a little change out of £4500. I've owned an Estelle for a couple of years and my parents have Skodas for 30 years. They were never well finished, but they were durable little cars.

I had a Skoda 120 LSE.

And to be honest, it wasn't a bad old bus. Solidly reliable, all weather transport, that was the only vehilce I ever drove that Bus's got out the way of. Lost less on that car than any I ever owned since. And yes, sometimes I used to hunch down, squint, and pretend it was a Porsche 911.......

Erm, no - neither do I. These were rubbish on a new (much lower) level.

Is there some sort of mathematical formula that will tell us at precisely at what point cars that we used to consider to be ahit, we suddenly think of as cool?

We're just finishing off my mates one with a xflow on 40's, it will be a riot for what it is. Mind you the AP brakes he banged on it are worth more than double the price of the car.

Yeah, £4840 was price of highest spec Estelle in 1991
Can't find anything on Skoda Estelle Sport - maybe it was overpriced given it's curious rarity ??
One of first cars i went in was a 1970s H reg 105 - fecking hell - never seen a car with a radio before -wow!

Honestly I remember it to the day. It was a special for something (that part I can't remember) but I'll never forget the car. It was all white (no Michael Barrymore) and it was definitely over £6k. You don't forget these things as a car mad teenager.

I was just remembering how much we used to take the Piss out of these as Car Obsessed schoolboys 19 the early 80's, and as you say all of a sudden it looks ultra cool.

Didn't Skoda produce a 'performance' model of the Estelle, twin carbs, minilites, etc etc, and racking my brains but I seem to remember they were pretty good for Rallying.

I wouldn't pay that for one but I've always had an odd liking for these (it's an 'anti-cool' car).

Dad had a B-reg for a while (running it for his friend who was banned). Bright orange and I was quite sad to see it go back frown

Got me looking on the net now.

Check this out, if the Estelle floats your boat, a 136 Rapide coupe.

I'd also forgotten they did a rather hideous cabriolet version !

I think the one I was thinking of was the Group-B 130LR.

Hey presto:
