...and suddenly I want an M5
Discussion
I had a ride in a fellow student's E39 M5 last night... easily the fastest and most powerful car I have ever been in by some margin. I was staggered by how something so big, heavy, luxurious and also so refined when doing a large number of leptons, was equally capable of raising eyebrows on an industrial estate by doing donuts in the carpark
For some unfathomable reason I now want an M5 or the Jag equivalent... better start saving!! (hello insurance company assraping)

get yourself an e34 m5, (last of the hand made cars) put it on a limited mileage classic policy, and away you go. i had a 94 model, and it was very quick, and the best car i've ever owned
What are they like with high mileage? There are loads on Autotrader with over 120K miles for not a lot of money.as long as you get one thats been looked after, you should be fine.
mine had 140000 miles on it when i bought it, f.s.h of which 120000 was bmw main dealer.
i got a folder of history, including bill of sale, every single m.o.t and receipts for nigh on 25k, so i knew it had been properley cared for. to be honest, even with the mileage, it still drove so tight, it was a fantastic car to own. if you were tempted, pay abit more to get a well cared for example as they are not cheap to fix, but such a great car to drive. i will be getting another.

Indeed. One can't but wonder why anyone who has enough money to have a $300,000 supercar would really need to attend Uni, you would think they could have just as much fun splashing the cash waiting for their inheritance doing anything but work.aka_kerrly said:

Is doing donuts in a car park still chav when it's in an M5?
no, this is pistonheads... vehicle and social standing matter.Naturally I had the gardener drag him outside and drown him in the lake for speaking out of turn. Now I'm going to have to name a new butler. The serving classes never think of the trouble they cause for real people. Plus who is going to lay out my clothes tomorrow?
>taps secretary's head with dong to signal it's time to press the "Submit" button, snorting at the irony<
