Do you even like your car?
Discussion
I used to like it, but now i hate it. (St220). I seem to hate it more since it was crashed into for some reason. Keyfob fails to work now and again, breather hose split (common), two alloys have been bent (one on a bump no bigger than a pile of dust), auto wipers dont work properly, paint peeling on one of the arches, clutch feels like it might be on its way out (700-1000 quid job apparently), rear heated screen doesn't work, leather recaros are terribly uncomfortable, power steering is noisy and sometimes stalls the car on full lock (lol), armrest bracket is broken so it doesn't clip in and hold in place, gearknob is peeling, and i heard an odd noise from one of the aux belts the other day, so that could be on it's way out too. I also had to replace the handbrake cables after they seized, cooking the back pads which were only 2 months old in the process.
I appreciate some of this stuff is routine (and probably minor compared to some PHers cars), but it all clubs together to make me hate the thing. It's not even a nice place to be in anymore. If/when the clutch goes, i'd take great pleasure in scrapping it and breaking it for spares on ebay.
Anyone else driving a car they hate?
Edited: More faults that i'd forgotten about

Yep.
2001 Corsa. In fairness it's been a great car. Reliable, perfect for most things I use it for and hasn't cost me a penny in depreciation. But it's just so boring I consider it alongside my wheelbarrow as an appliance to be used with zero emotional attachment. Probably a good thing actually... I can leave it parked in dodgy streets without breaking a sweat.
Anyway, it's lucky I only have to use it once every couple of weeks. I have to have a far closer attachment to my motorbike.

I like my 944 but its not without its faults, its a bit rattly, crap on fuel and being old you miss things like stereo controls on the wheel.
I always get paranoid when I get a new car, waiting for the ineviatable expensive disaster but starting to gel with it now and am not panicing when I get stuck in traffic in case it overheats (it doesnt) and I am used to its foibles and limitations, on balance I love it.

Surprisingly given it's a far slower and stter mondeo mk2 est, no.
Possibly because I have no real money tied up in it, I don't really care for it or its state and it's done me 67k with pretty much minimum grief and lack of major spending.
The only thing that annoys me is it's habit of stalling when cold and it's cold. Weathers warmed up though now so hopefully that won't be a problem until the end of the year...

i liked my calibra turbo enough to keep it for 7 years when i was in my teens to mid 20s. i put up with all its faults. everything broke on it a number of times. it was a bit like Triggers broom on only fools and horses, it was amazing how it had lasted so long with such high miles(i only had replaced most of the shell, the interior, the gear box, the TX box, the turbo, the engine, the intercooler, the wheels etc etc). one day i just completely fell out of love with it. my transfer box broke, so i had it replaced....it was faulty and broke within a day. i then looked through my folder of about 15k worth of bills, then looked at my 2grand car and thought
"yikes, why do i still own this"
since ive had my monaro ive fallen in love with cars again. i polish it often. it doesnt expode above 2k revs(this is now a basic requirement for me). move on and find a car you like OP.

Currently running a cheap MK1 Focus, which is growing on me more than I thought it would.
Had it for 9 months now and apart from 1 wheel bearing it has been totally faultless.
It isn't perfect, the paintwork and a little rust give away the fact that the car is 10 years old, but I can put up with that for the price I paid for it.
I realised the other week when I drove a MK3 Focus for the first time, that I think I actually prefer the way the MK1 drives. I have no need for radar guided cruise control and the self parking gubbins that comes with the new car. A CD player and working air conditioning is all I need.

It probably sounds ridiculous, but I have a love/hate relationship with my car- a 996 C4S. I've owned it for 4.5 years now, and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for, and then some. So why do I fall in and out of love with it? A number of reasons, primarily because I don't get to drive it very often at all; this leads to issues like flat batteries (communal garage, so a trickle charger isn't an option unfortunately) and since the windscreen was replaced 4 years ago, the interior hasn't stopped squeaking. My wife doesn't like travelling in it, and very much dislikes driving swiftly.
All is forgotten, however, when I get to drive it on my own on an open road with noone else about- nothing could be better- but these opportunities are few and far between! After 3.5 years, I began lusting after a new car- now I can't bear to part with my current car, as the only thing I could replace it with would be another 911.
So there we have it- not being able to drive it enough makes me dislike it sometimes.

I've loved all my cars except the fking 200SX, which was always broken.
Not just me then?Fiesta, ZR, Focus - all got driven to death, and I dored them.
200SX was a thing of leisure & fun..... Yet spent 99% of it's time in fking pieces. And anything it needed was BACK-ORDER wether through Nissan or a factors.
E36 I loved but couldn't justify.
Alfa I loved but seat position was crap, and it needed 1k spend... Which on a 400 car was crap.
Current fleet:
1971 Austin 1300 - adore it. I get in that, and it's fun time. No work, no modern tech, no communication gadgets, just peace & fun
SAAB 9-3 TID - comfy wafter, quick enough. But it's just a tool.... Pretty to look at but could happily get rid.
Mondeo LX (mk3) - adore it as a car, i.e. comfort, cheap, fun, don't care about it. BUT hate what it represents...... Getting old, being sensible, being skint.
