Screenwash Test - Post up the good stuff
Discussion
Did a little test over the past few days, as screenwash is a bugbear as we all know. Seems some of the cheating suppliers are far worse than others!
I assumed the blue'er it was the better it might be, seems not to be the case
So don't buy the frozen crap if anybody has any more tubs of it, leave some out overnight post up the results & the the temp recorded
Here's this mornings results after -10c here in Dorset
CARPLAN READY MIXED FROZEN SOLID AT -10C
HOLTS SCREENWASH (-15 RATED) OK AT -10C

Car Plan is ready mixed and the Holts is concentrate .
All very well, but the Carplan crap is what's on sale at every motorway service station at the moment & your note would suggest that ready mixed includes a good dose of blue dye!Edited by jacobpalmer05 on Sunday 26th December 09:31

I have car plan concentrate -5 in mine which froze at at -3 on dash on my 240 mile drive yestaday and unfroze when temp was at -1 on the parts of the journey.
Kept doing this for about 6 times in the journey.
To be fair it was only there all weather stuff which I bought in the summer for 15pence a litre when Sainsbury had a sale so can't complain as normal price was about £1.50 and was close to the rated temp but was with engine heat helping it.

I'm using autoglym's screenwash, I've got it mixed 1.5L to 4.5L of water but it's not frozen on me yet and cuts through the crap on the screen and lights very well.
It's not cheap though but I will definitely be buying some more.

I use the VAG screenwash. It's rated to glacial temperatures and has not frozen.
I have a litre of the VAG stuff .... at 1:1 it is rated to -70C !!!Halfords concentrate just says winter conditions at 1:1 ....
Guess the VAG stuff may be worth the money !
