an 07 leon fr tdi with 170bhp, i noticed on the test drive when i put my foot down in 2nd there wAs obvious wheelspin as the turbo kicked in, 3rd gear was fine the roads seemed dry?
have they sorted a good remap for this car yet? they were setting fire to the dpf initially lol
what do you guys think of the power of it? im going from a 100bhp focus 1.8tdci with 75k on the clock, this hAs 30,000 on the clock

the wheelspin in second and first, i cant find anything on the web
The throttle pedal is not a binary device. If the wheels are spinning, use less throttle. It's a relatively powerful FWD car, it's bound to have traction problems to some extent. Edited by kambites on Wednesday 5th January 10:16

Yes....you keep putting a capital 'A' randomly in the middle of words, very off putting when trying to reAd your posts! ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
A genuine case of "I'm having dramas posting cos I'm on my phone"...

Any car will wheelspin for a variety of reasons! Do you really need to ask? Engine power, tyre choice, road surface etc etc, use your foot!!
i never had it in my old focus 1.8tdci in second gear though, i know this has a bit more power but it has wider tyres etc and surely it should be built to grip the road betterkambites said:

And remapping will only make it worse, unless you are detuning and want less powaaaaah!
Not many remapping places will offer to downgrade a state of tune and that'll probably be a custom remap and more expensive and devalue your car.
I'd leave it as it is.
Maybe buy better/newer tyres?
My Fiesta can spin it's wheels accelerating hard in second gear, particularly when the road surface poor, and that only has about a third of the bhp this Seat does. I would advise reviewing your driving technique.
If the tyres are not fresh I'd put some new rubber on, but I would generally do that anyway if I was buying a used car as you don't know what those old tyres have been through. That said, will still be able to spin the wheels in second gar if you are driving with a lead foot.
