The "P13" Updates were released yesterday. Looking forward to seeing what they've changed. Anyone had it done yet?

Does that mean you can switch it between a 12C and a P13, at the flick of a switch? wink

Forgive my ignorance but what is McLaren doing with all these upgrades to the MP4 12C ?

I think we all know the first cars were flawed and hence the 2013 upgrade. Then there was IRIS II upgrade and now P13 upgrade

Surely this isn't going to help 650S sales ?

It's to keep the 12C owners happy, McLaren said they'd support/upgrade the 12C for the life of the model. Bringing out the 650S as a new model so soon upset the 12C buyers - I think this is the final upgrade for 12C owners.

I do love this, have you ever driven one of the first cars? The only thing that was "Flawed" was the "Iris" system. Mclaren chose to
engineer it themselves, and sadly it wasn't up to the job. The early cars were overly benign (safe) in their handling, some would call that flawed
I suppose some would call early 911's flawed, generally as they went through a hedge backwards. I know which of the two I'd prefer...

The only real "re-call" up-grade the car has had, was it's power hike from 592 to 616 bhp this made a noticeable difference. Interestingly the original
"flawed" car was only 1.1 seconds slower than the Atom 500 around the Dunsfold track, pretty impressive when you think about it! (I did hear
rumours the Atom was running on cut slicks as well...)

So to re-cap, we're calling a supercar "flawed" because it doesn't want to let you kill yourself whilst "going for it" confused

Maybe the result of the improved 650S up-grades are adequately displayed in recent events?

It's so flawed, I'm waiting for them to take it away and up-grade it some more biggrin

I owned 2 the first was very very flawed. I kept quiet on forums to help the manufacturer.
I was treated like sh-t 6 months after that. Promises made and not kept by the Brand manager

The second car was a big improvement but the value went into free fall

Great car but ...........

P13 update applied to mine today don't expect to see any big changes though, spoiler will now retracts on the long straight runs to reduce drag and lifts for the corners - this is one of the main updates.

picking it up friday hopefully.

Mine's chassis 171. The only real problem I've had, aside from the original "Iris" are fogging rear lights and some minor paintwork damage caused by the rear quarter light trim. Swipe doors are sometimes finicky but they are
cool in equal measure as well. Mclaren Birmingham have always collected and returned the car to sort the problems. To put it into perspective, the R8 V10 Spyder I owned previously, had a lot more issues...

I have a later 12C and I'm delighted with it. Very very fast, capable and entertaining. Not what I would call 'flawed'.

The only people who diss these cars are those that have never driven one, epic epic cars, I cant see anything being quicker from A to B in real world conditions.

I tried Launch on mine last week with traction off. Fooooooookin hell!

Brilliant when you learn to floor it quickly not slowly bringing on clutch overheat warning ;-) Mad how it finds the grip!

Mine now has these 650S updates too, thanks for the brochure link to see it written out. I feel like I should have the camera installed as it's fairly inexpensive all things considered.

Snap. 11k miles down on mine in 5 months and going brilliantly. The R8 Spyder before... not so smooth.

picked up my car from mclaren Manchester with the p13 update applied. feels faster and the spoiler function is cool!

gearbox in auto mode seems further improved also, not that I use auto that much mind.

only issue with these cars so far is the crap support from the franchise dealers, rumours that mclaren will be removing these dealers once their own showroom and workshop is open near the factory. if its true I welcome the move.

P13 isn't out yet so you probably have the 650S wing updates, I believe this is the final factory update for 12C which is no bad thing given how much they've already improved it.

Surprised you aren't happy with the dealers though, I've had a fantastic experience with both Manchester and London. There's a new showroom and service centre opening in Ascot as part of McLaren London I think. At least the service team are heading from Sevenoaks to Ascot, I'm not sure of the sales side.
