As much as I would like to buy a manual GT3 Porsche will not sell me one. So my search has widened to include the 570S.

I'm considering going to look at this car:

https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

My questions are:

1. Is that car a good price?
2. Covering 5000 miles a year would I limit my exposure to depreciation by finding a car with lower mileage to start with?
3. Anything else I should consider?

Thanks.

Have you driven one? That will help make your mind up. You will either love it or feel non-plussed about it.

- This car seems very cheap, why?
- I don't think McLarens are mileage sensitive like Ferraris and Lamboghinis (or GT4s...)
- You only live once

Yes Ive driven 540 570S Spider and GT. Smitten with them all but S is my best match.

Yes I agree the car looks quite cheap - I guess thats partly why I am slightly suspicious!

Can remember that guy advertising the lowest price 458 in the country at one stage ( a good few years ago ) at £125k with about 30k miles.

All I will say is the condition reflected the price, but it was very cheap and probably could of been sorted properly. I suspect it had already had some poor remedial work though so go in eyes open and magnifying glass out.

Always cheap for a reason IMHO

Couple of observations, no sports exhaust, no soft close doors, four speaker system, interior trim not a popular choice, but very cheap at that money.

Imo the cars are one trick ponies :-(

All the company want to do is have a car for sale faster than a Ferrari,
Totally soleless cars to drive imo esp higher end stuff which does every thing for you.

Look great, very fast , but ultimately quite dull, shame really.
Odd company with the Ferrari obsession.

Let’s hope the 600lt is better but they won’t sell you one of those lol.

Yeah the boring old farts are usually tucked up with their Cocoa by 9.00 pm.

One trick pony just like the 60 year old Porsche 911. Porsche the laziest designers in the automotive industry

Porker 911R (aka MrD, Demon, etc, etc) has little time for British sportscars, it's McLarens turn now after slagging off the boys from Hethel for years wink

yes the car you see turn up at most track days rather than the car you see turn up at Salon Prive .

Nice try the "beetle thing" but lacks any substance and shows a lack of knowledge.

having owned and ran Lotus cars for 5 years, I like them, just think at todays values there are better cars to own £ for £ new .
The Elise is a great platform, might buy myself another in fact but 2nd hand.

Nice stalking though on your 6th ever post lol

The reality is that most people are quite tribal over their preferences, but are also quite appreciative of other options, then there are the people who are simply blinkered. I looked at 911 variants which were available and just didn't prefer them, the 570s suited me better at the time and I've no regrets.

570S great looking car but outclassed by latest GT3 on every level not least all important driver involvement and fun factor. GT4 clearly a notch down performance wise but again more involving and more fun than the Mclaren.

Usual savage depreciation a major problem on the Mclaren too confirming overpriced when new.

Mere fact that 2 to 3 year old GT4s and 3 to 4 year old GT3s with mileage still fetching over new list ££ is clear testament to the sheer abilities of these cars.

If anything Mclarens are more mileage sensitive than GT Porsches especially the GT4.

Are Porsche owners allowed in this SUPERcar Forum ?

I thought they had their own section under something like SPORTScars or was it squashed Beetles ?

Porsches are so common virtually every house has one around my way
