First post on the Noble forum for me, After much thought iv decided to leave the TVR fold for now and currently looking forward to picking up my new car, a titanium silver m400, the 2005 one in the classifieds
Coming from a Tvr T350t im hoping to find the Noble less stressful to live with and a bit more solid on a whole.
Ill be doing some searches on how to look after these things but any advice is much appreciated!
Pick up the car wednesday hopefully,
Graham

Welcome, and congratulations on your purchase.
Was the Tiv a little troublesome then?
Thanks, Yes it was, in 2 years it needed a rebuild, steering rack, radiator, new shocks, 2 clutches, a speedo sensor, 3 water temp sensors and a coil pack. Thats over and above the few things i wanted to do and the servicing, running costs etc Was the Tiv a little troublesome then?
Lets hope this one brings less problems

The M400 should have all the major things sorted out. Fingers crossed.
BTW, there is an optional aftermarket warranty that you might be interested in - I've not tried it myself but it's had some pretty good publicity on here. Seems to cover a lot of things that you might not normally expect. Around £400-500 a year, or something like that.

The car im buying has kerridges gold warranty apparently which is transferable, it made the purchase much easier to stomach! The M400 should have all the major things sorted out. Fingers crossed.

Hi.I tried to buy this car when it was up for £42k but could not get through phoneguard.Went and bought M400 from TVR Barnet. Two weeks later up for sale again £39k it was the colour i wanted.Right, Tuscan to noble in my case.1st the only time you will see a TVR it will be a small dot on your rear view mirror the power is in a class of its own, plus short throttle travel, you will notice this first off.Road holding, yes it does and you dont have to worry about going in to bends because you come out the other side without praying. At 160mph slight wind noise on drivers window only noticed this because i was very comfortable and was listening to the radio not hanging on for dear life hoping the front wouldn't lift as on the tuscan. TVR & NOBLE very diffrent animals.I am not sgging the tuscan, i am lucky to have both. Sun out Tuscan out, roof off,the sound, the styling, nice car mister.Good luck will look forward to your future posts when you've had it for a few weeks.Steve.
Well fk me sideways what a beast of a car! wish i'd done it sooner!
The 500 mile drive home yesterday was good fun and im glad i went for it, on a whole the M400 really does feel as well built and solid, the pedal position gave me sore legs after 500 miles though, im sure i'll adjust.
The handling is well balanced and the brakes have a good feel to them, although im sure the tvr had a better turn-in, the noise of the Roush system is nice when on "Full beans" and the wee pops and barbles on over-run sound good, when i pulled away from my friends house last night and floored it, as i changed from 1st-2nd there was a fair old bang followed by a text from friend - it just made fireworks!!) It is quieter than my tvr but im glad of that. The power delivery will take some time to get used to as the tvr was very linear, i almost got caught out twice yesterday!
On my journey i had 3 people ask what the car was, also had people taking pictures while i overtook them and in traffic i came level with a BMW, the gorgeous blonde smiled and waved at me, much to her boyfriends dissapointment.
