A friend has a standard 1.8 mx5.
He is interested in the turbo conversions, would be interested in your thoughts on your cars performance.
I like the look of it in white w/black wheels.

I think that looks good in white with the black alloys!

Does the turbo conversion make it fairly rapid then? Any ideas on power?

Get over to the Jap forum, we dont bite

Thanks! Didn't want a white one originally but to find any MX5 in excellent condition, let alone a turbo for £2500, I am happy with my choice.

Have not had it on a rolling road yet but BBR reckon the conversion took the standard 1.6 from 115 bhp to 150 bhp - would be interesting to see exactly what is coming out of it. It's quick enough for me, maybe suprised a few and have yet to hold anyone up...

Nicely understated.

Again, not a fan of white cars (Yes, I've had one before), but you'd need sharp eyes to know that's a BBR conversion if there's no telltale badges.

It's more grey after a day or two
No BBR / turbo badges - i'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, you can't tell at all until you look under the bonnet (unless you hear the kusshhhh of the wastegate )

was looking forward to taking the 5 over there but company rules that i've only just become aware of states that any car used on business must have airbags, side impact bars, ABS, and weigh more than 1100kg - mine doesn't quite tick all boxes...

so i was stuck with a 1.6 focus

still, didn't really get the weather to enjoy it.

tell me what you're driving and i'll have to flash you instead

veeeery nice, i always loved that shape when i saw it in america a little while back, glad they decided to bring it over here.

so if you see some grinning fool flashing you from a rather more boring vehicle, don't worry, it's just me

Thank you. I love my car, but I do wish they'd do like they do in the states and give it a better name. Tiburon or Tuscani sounds so much better than Hyundai Coupe.

What a shame you're company is so boring and responsible, the weather would have been perfect for your new baby this week.

don't i know it! if i want to go for a quick meeting at williams which is literally 20 miles down the road i have to phone up for a taxi at both ends! still, at least they still allow me to drive to and from work in it... for now (just a shame i moved house to reading this weekend, the drive is now 20 minutes at 30 mph rather than an hour and a quarter going rather faster!)

tiburon, yeah, that's a cool name. can't you buy a badge and pretend?

Reading you say? You need to get yourself to the Japanese meets, every 3rd Tuesday of the month normally, just outside the Madjenski Stadium.

There is usually three or four of us there with our tubby 5s.
