Well cleaned the MR2 yesterday, was perfect weather for the roof to be off so i took some pics afterwards smile

Interior clean for once!

Audio sounding much better now set up.

Little rememberance to my dad who's car it was smile

RIP mate.

Not a bad shine for 19 year old paint work!

Some genral picture's showing the car lowered now the springs have settled.

Car is booked in for a full decat exhaust on the 18th of this month and i have a jap spec peformance induction kit to fit at the same time.

I no its old but its so much more fun to drive than anything else i have ever owned, i no relise why the old man got it and i understand why he kept it to smile

Any thoughts or anything?

Thanks

Nick

Thats a cracking looking car. Love where you've put the amp and bass box!!

We had a '96 Anniversary edition some years ago. Loved it. Great cars.

Its the only place they would fit smile

It really is a great car to drive, no abs, no traction control just me, 3 pedals, 4 wheels and a engine smile

Just how its meant to be!

There a great drive to smile

I went from a 240bhp astra gsi turbo to this and i would take the mr2 over the astra every day of the week, it may not be as fast in a straight line but in the bends its great.

Cool. Have you joined to IMOC yet?

Try a Rev3 Turbo for best of both worlds wink

Looks excellent!
I have owned two MR2 MK 2`s over the years, and enjoyed every mile in them!
Very tempted with another one, but that would mean selling my MGBGT, cant quite bring myself to do it..........yet!

Looks good. A set of Rev3 rear lights would improve the look further imo smile

Love these! Black is the best color too.

Stupid question, but once you take the roof off is there somewhere in the car it fits? Or do you have to leave it at home?

nice car mate, had 3 mr2s, rev 1's were my favourite!

AS a warning, the turbo path is not always the right one....keep yours mate and you won't regret it!
Whats the reason for thinking that pal?

I wont ever sell this car, it will rot away before i get rid of it smile

Beautiful biggrin

I have a black Rev 2 N/A & spend many happy hours buffing up the paintwork. As you've said, not neccessarily that quick in a straight line (especially at lower revs), but amazing through corners and the perfect combo - RWD, mid engine and no electronic gizmos to interfere with that driving pleasure smile

I'd be really interested to hear what you think of the Jap Spec induction kit once you fit it, can you post/PM an update?

Some people are scared of the turbos, as it amplifies the "snappyness" of the rear end under power. But the Rev3 onwards suspension geometry is more controllable, and the turbo (different in the rev3 onwards) is more progressive - the CT26 turbo in the rev1/2 makes a big lump of torque early, then tails off. The turbo is a more exciting car IMO, but balancing the throttle in the bends is no doubt much easier in a normally aspirated model.

Lovely car the wheels look cool, i wouldn't have guessed it unless i seen them on the car!

I've owned MR2 2 turbos and a GT4 not to mentioned worked on a lot of them and the 3S-GTE engine is a great bit of kit, the N/A engine is also good ... lot of low down torque for a 2.0 16V, i've seen some N/A's go very quickly on back roads!

The rev3 onwards as someone has said is a bit more predictable ... certainly mine always felt a lot more planted than any of the rev1s i've driven.

Great platform to start with the MR2 ... can do a lot with it in the future.

Today i had my decat exhaust and JSP induction kit fitted, here are some pictures:

As you can see i have kept the tail pipes nice and small and almost oem looking, i am very very happy with the sound of the exhaust, its only a tiny bit louder than standard up to about 3000 revs then it brakes into a very nice sporty sound. I am very impressed with the performance increase that the decat/exhaust/induction kit have provided, i mean it revs so much more freely and even seems to idle alot better!

Also i am really impressed with the quality of the whole exhaust, Phil at Unique Exhausts in Stafford made everything infont of me and his work is perfect smile This is my 4th exhaust by phil and the quality has being second to none!

Any comments?

Thanks

Nick

Have you ever seen a standard steering wheel in one of these? its bigger than the moon!

The standard audio is shocking but i think im starting to agree with you on the rear pannel. .
