My EP3 Civic Type - R / Premier
Discussion
Hi all,
Not the most rare of cars but all the same it is my little toy, I have had her since March this year and it my third EP3 Type-R. It is the Premier model which means it has a few parts out of the JDM parts bin which include, Recaro Seats, Factory Tinted Rear Windows, Type-R embossed brake callipers and Momo Steering wheel.
Current modifications are: Mugen Power Airbox & Spoon N1 Silencer, looking to upgrade the brakes next and then fit a limited slip diff.

Looks very clean! I used to have the full cat-back N1 system on my EP3, got a little noisy though so went back to the standard back box.
As as far as brakes go, uprated lines, pads and fluid will be all you need for the road. Track action maybe look at Stoptechs, nice bit of kit.
Also consider front and rear camber adjusters (Eibach are what I have fitted). Having the geo properly set up really makes a difference!

Your engine bay cleanliness puts mine to shame
Like the first shot tho !
What has kept you coming back to EP3's then, never fancied a change ? I do every month ! Whether its a good thing or not im not too sure...
To be honest with you I don't really know, although I do constantly draw pleasure from the way the 2.0L N/A engine produces so much go without any forced induction and the track it plays while doing all of this is second to only a few including the BMW CSL.Like the first shot tho !

The first EP3 I had was a pre facelift 30th Anniversary which was a good car.
I always felt that the improvements which Honda made to the facelift model were played down a little as for me the facelift was not as twitchy and therefore rewarded more confidence behind the wheel. I eventuality found one for the right price and I traded the Anniversary in and kept this car for a further year.
Similar to you I do always get the urge to change and P/X'd this car for this a Ford Focus RS MK1:
I decided that after a year of fun ownership that this car had a thirst issue especially once it was remapped and I decided I was going to attempt to get sensible a bought a Mini Cooper S:
The Mini was good fun but the handling was not sharp enough and without spending a bomb on it I decided to return back to what I know, although I have recently got the urge to buy a MK2 Focus RS in Frozen White!!!!!!
This is nice, and didnt know they did a 'Premier' version. Any pics of the Recaro seats? One of the things I dont like about the EP3 is the 'Type R' logo seats, when I am used to the Recaro ones in my Integra.
Was the thirst issue the main reason for getting rid of the Focus? I do fancy one..
Cheers, Greg.

Very nice CTR, the best colour IMO. Nice spec list too, and kudos on the mugen induction and spoon N1 exhaust, that is exactly what i would have if i had one.
I was very closed to buying one my self, in the end i went for a Leon cupra R, it was the turbo engine tunability which swung it for me in the end.
Do you have any sounds clips of the exhaust? I'd love to hear it.
p.s. great pictures
