Our new BMW m3

Hi all,

I am rubbish at taking pictures, especially when teamed with an iPhone. But anyway, this is my dads second E92 M3 and it is such a fantastic car. It has such a brutal engine note upon start up and wow, I am in love.

Bmw 740i (that was such a gangsta car )

I don't mind at all.. The last one we had was on a 57 plate and the reason for selling is my dad has his own medical instrument company, in which required him to travel long distances in his car. So the last M3 was sold as it was costing £600-700 a month in fuel, at which the 320 diesel was bought to help cut the cost of fuel, which it did, quite drastically in fact. Now my dad doesn't have to travel as far and can now justify having another M3.

This car is slightly different to the last one, as this one has the 7 speed DCT gearbox, whereas the last one we had was a 6 speed manual. Other than that, this one has black leather whereas the last one had red leather and was gum metal gray (space gray is it called?). So far this M3 seems much nicer to drive through cities (such as Bath) due to having such a fantastic gearbox. Each gear change is so smooth and incredably fast. I cannot wait (nor can dad) for this car to be run in, so he can take it for a blast. I have definitely called shotgun, sorry mum lol

Haha. Whenever I drive through Bath on my SV650 (baffles removed), with a rather excitable right hand, I get the look of death by everyone. Those narrow streets, with beautifull high biuldings, makes a sound like no other. Ahhhhhh, bliss.

I am a big fan of bikes, especially Suzuki's. Do you have any pictures of your bike at all? Oh Bath is great for loud in your face cars/bikes. The other week I was in my friends dads Aston Martin DB9 in town and that car certanly got a few people looking. Lol toffs, I agree

This picture was taken by a friend of mine and is pretty rubbish to be fair. However, all the other pictures are on a SD card which my dad currently has in Corsica in my camera.. Bugger

Anyway..



It was taken at my dads office and the Aston parked next to my dads I believe is someone who has an office next door to his. I used to pop down after college sometimes to hear both of these cars being started. The Aston is a much louder car, but either way they are both fantastic machines

First 'proper' bike and at 17... WOW! Still puts a smile on my face every time I'm on it.
Completely mad for V-Twins. Don't think I'll ever convert to the IL4 'dark side!'


Only 70ish BHP. But the low down grunt is plentyful. I can actually ride it to it's full potential. Which couldn't be said if I had 150+ BHP bike. So wise choice for a road bike IMO.

Wow... I love that colour, a very smart bike indeed. Did you say you were 17? I thought you were restricted too a 125cc?? I am probally wrong though. So is this bike in competition with such likes of the Yamaha R6?

Cheers pal. 1 year only colour, a bit girly, but I really like it too! I was 17 (18 now)

You can pass your test at 17 and be 'restrcited' to 33bhp, on any bike. All you do on mine is swap the ECU to swap between 33 and 70, easy peasy (another thing which attracted me to the bike).

Not exactly R6 catagory, more of an all rounder. Yet very capable in the corners. Doesn't really have much competition TBF, hence why they sold/sell a shed load!

They do a litre version aswell.

I drive a nearly new 1.9 TDi Golf aswell (showing off I know, it's the mothers company cars, I have a Gay-A, but I prefer nobody to know) My mates get arsey when I tell them how slow it is, as they are in their 1 litre Corsas. But after I've taken them for a spirited ride on the back, they soon agree!!

Thank you very much Phil. He sure has had some great cars over his time, some lemons too. One of which was his first car which snapped in half .

As for the competition package, he did think about it but he does a lot of driving back and forth from his office of which there are speed bumps etc, which he thought having a lower M3 wouldn't cope with the job in hand. Plus we have had one of these 18 months ago, of which both of loved, my dad just wanted the same car again. We did look at/test drove a monte carlo edition M3, which for me is a slightly better looking version but it was sold before my dad properly thought about getting another. Shame

The Edition models were all pre-facelift though, i think you're much better off with your post-facelift 'regular' (if you can call it that) model. Enjoy.

Ah, re-reading my post it looks like I'm having a go! Was just curious which were his and which were his dads, but I'm guessing now that he's not old enough to drive.
