My Ford Focus ST.....
Discussion
New on this forum and thought would share my Focus ST with fellow members;
Bought it like this in October 2009;
221bhp / 236Ib/ft
Then after 16 months it looks like this;
334bhp / 368Ib/ft
I am building it up as my road legal track toy so will be getting cage soon.
Lots more power to come as going down the aftermarket turbo root so that will be progressing this year.
Some pics of it going around Silverstone;
Some pics taken throughout the last year;

Cheers for the welcome - it is getting there in terms of performance
Personal Best 0-60 was 5.7 but this was when running 300-310bhp so should be better now
Plus with the diet I put the car on it should be around 75-100kg lighter than standard
Loads of work on at the minute - first trackday is July so trying to get it sorted for then in terms of chassis, interior and exterior. Only once this is done will I up the power
Parts starting to get stockpiled;
These are now sitting with these;

Looks nicer now it's off the rims it came on. There is a 'but' though - I know Jared at Dreamscience well, and have been following all the mods they offer since they first set up and there's no way yours is running 334bhp. It's simply not possible on the standard turbo. Even the TUV-tested Wolf 330 cars with big-turbo conversions were cracking their liners and such at 330bhp+. Yours has also been dyno'd in the wrong gear; the ST should be dyno'd in 4th not 5th, as 5th throws the readings out significantly.
I'd say that if you're running a full Dreamscience'd car, you'll be around 310-315bhp maximum. And I wouldn't bother trying to screw any more out of the engine as you'll just pop it. Also without the trick suspension of the RS, the ST simply can't put the power down so chasing ever-higher peak numbers is pointless.

The car looks good.
BUT, I too do not think a standard KKK can make those numbers. Sorry, OP.
The tiny turbo just doesn't have the flow rate to create that on a 5 cylinder engine.
I ran a GT3071R on my S-Max 2.5T and it made 365bhp/525Nm and had no problem with the block/liners

You're getting right to the edge of what the block will handle there, and as per previous observations, the ST simply won't put it on the road properly. It's not all about peak power numbers..
Understand peoples opinions but I stand by the figures as the dyno they were done on have been used numerous times and compared to Dyno Dynamics they were spot on. Like any rolling road it is a lottery though and no doubt the fact the temp was extremly low will have had an influence - was -3deg outside lmao.
I also know Jared and Carl very well as this is a Dreamscience sponsored car - I personally know a few other ST's that have made over my figure and granted 1 did blow the block at 343bhp on standard turbo.
If you have spent alot of time around the Focus ST tuning you will know there is no set power a block will blow at and many standard cars have blown with very low mileage. Speak to Jared at Dreamscience, any Ford Tech or Gary at Profile and all will say the same.
As for the comments about it not being as good as an RS with the RS suspension - thats an opinion as you havent driven my car - 100kg lighter than standard ST (a standard ST is 120kg lighter than an RS as well) with more power and torque than an RS it doesnt disapoint. I didnt get an RS as personally dont like them looks wise.
All comments are welcome though as understand the figures do sound high to some.
A nice useable 410bhp and 410Ib/ft will do me nicely until I get bored again lmao

I know both Jared and Gary personally, I ran focusstoc.com for 3 years.. You won't get to 334bhp on the standard turbo, it's actually only rated to around 260-270bhp (go to KKK and ask for the specs..) As mentioned, it's been dyno'd in the wrong gear.I also know Jared and Carl very well as this is a Dreamscience sponsored car - I personally know a few other ST's that have made over my figure and granted 1 did blow the block at 343bhp on standard turbo.

Either way, you're young, you want the 'bragging rights' in the pub. Ultimately it comes down to two things; 1) how the car makes and delivers its power and 2) how it puts that power on the tarmac. I covered around 70k in my ST running around 270bhp and much more would have made it a pretty undriveable mess imo.
Go get the car dyno'd by Charlie at Surrey Rolling Road in 4th gear and I'll believe the figures. He's run loads of them on there and his dyno calibration is spot-on. Until then, I'm afraid you're just making noise.
Nice car though, but don't waste too much money chasing figures you'll never achieve. Oh, and new engines aren't cheap..
