How come every Porsche Cayman driver wants to have a go ?
Ive never experienced this with any Boxster drivers
Maybe the Boxster drivers understand you dont have a go at a GT3 RS
where as the Cayman drivers dont know the where they are on the Porsche
hierarchy

This has happened 3 times in the last 3 weeks

..... I think they understand now !

I completely agree - God forbid the thought that anyone should be so disrespectful and have a bit of fun in their car. If I had a Cayman, I'd still have a pop at a GT3RS just for the hell of it - I'd also enjoy hearing and seeing you blast off into the distance - maybe that's just me.

You'd only be moaning if you didn't have chance to flex your muscles.

Yes, nothing wrong with being 'Playful', how do you distinguish being 'Playful' and 'Having a go' ?

Going after a GT3-RS is more like your puppy trying to bite your arm, he is not 'Having a go', he is just being 'Playful'.

It can even be endearing......No?

I remember many moons ago when i had my first motor a mk1 Fiesta XR2 and being 18 and stoopid thought it was a rocket,no it wasn't......... these thoughts disappeared as quickly as the rear of the first 930 Turbo i happened to find..all good fun though.

What's more embarrassing is to be driving the nuts off your dad's Montego 1.6HL and then getting burnt off by a Peugeot 604. My only defence is I was 17.

First Cayman I saw on the road decided his car was lots faster than mine (996TT)
Not any more he doesn't.

doubt he was that stupid, probably just trying to coax you into playing and enjoying seeing you press on in a lovely car

Tim - get over yourself FFS, he may have been able to afford an RS but didn't fancy one but who cares to be honest, this hierarchy thing is very sad

Guys, come ON! I am with Pikey and AdamB on this.

I am truly truly disappointed in some people on this forum.

This guy proably saved for ages to buy his Cayman, he's living the dream and he is an enthusiast - he probably wants a play, that's all, and to hear your RS howl becuase he loves to hear it.

You boys with your Turbos and your GT3RSs are very lucky indeed to have them, although doubtless you've worked long and hard to achieve it. If I saw you out and about I'd flash my lamps and lift the (polite!!) finger to say hello, and I'd dream of owning one like yours, and yes I might even DARE to get you to give me a "wheelie." If a guy in a 944 did the same to me then I would assume he is a fellow enthusiast and give him his wheelie and a

So I can assume that I shouldn't bother in future becuase you'll just think I am a c0ck with a sh1tty six year old 996C2 who's trying to teach you a lesson.......

With respect guys, YOUR ATTITUDE STINKS.

I like a play, its all good fun, conditions & traffic permitting, but just don't like it when someone is about 3 inches from my bumper messing around like this chap was, thats just crazy.

Ah, if he was driving like a knobjockey then that's rather different.

But please don't condemn those of us with pauper spec/older cars - we love them just as much as you love yours.

PS wanna swop?

Slightly different but in the month iv had my car iv had 2 997's come up my back side just to show me that there car is quicker than mine, both times iv pulled over and let them put there foot down to show me who's boss(if i wanted a quicker car than a 997 id buy a bloody turbo). Hopefully at some point there will be an old bill car to show them(joke i wouldnt wish that upon anyone).

I always wave to other porsche drivers !

This Cayman driver tried very hard ... I even waiting at the last roundabout
to acknowledge him !

I think that he had not explored the outer limits of the Cayman before !

Nice to know you acknowledge us at the lower end of the food chain

I'm getting used to my Cayman now and would be happy to "play" if the opportunity arose with another Porsche derivative. However, I won't be sticking close to their bumper as this is truly dangerous and likely to lead to an accident and/or personal injury. There are idiots out there and we all have to live with them. I live in Essex and have to suffer this more than most

I admire all Porsches and would hope other owners are of the same ilk, although it would appear that there is a serious level of snobbery (especially on the PCGB site) around over "pecking orders". Total crap in my opinion as a car is a personal choice and I chose a Cayman. I could have purchased anything in the current range but chose not to as it was my first Porsche and I really liked the look of the Cayman against anything else available from new at the time - the hips did it for me

Life goes on as far as I am concerned and if a knob in any car wants to play it is always my choice to do so or not. If they get silly then I'll slow down and stop if necessary to let them pass and go on their blinkered way. If they get very silly I'll gladly give them an "animated talking to" at the roadside about their driving style and the type of incident it could lead to to. There are idiots everywhere just don't let them annoy you with their antics or their snobbery.

Another 2p worth.....must be up to at least 30p by now
