Has anyone else's insurance premium gone up?

Looking at a 15% increase without a claim, points or ban.

Isn't that how insurance companies work?

Rarely have my insurance with company two years in a row.

Hoping that won't be the case with A.Manning at end of this year...

I always change companies too. It may be because they give extra discount to get new business then a year later it goes up 15%!!

There's also somebody out there who is looking to buy customers at any given time so will be very very competitive. The RAC were like that when i was looking last year.

Same happened to me in Dec. Was paying £650 for 02' c4, renewal was £900+, chatted to Aplan, secured for £599, def. worth a call...

I got a number of quotes earlier this month, and was quite amazed by the range. A-Plan (who advertise on this forum, although that was not why I tried them, they were recommended to me) were comfortably the best; the policy details were also better than most. Next closest were AON, Porsche insurance (who are actually Marsh, I believe) a slightly distant third. Privilege were something of a joke, nearly three times the quote I got from A-Plan.

The reason some quotes are a joke is that they simply dont want to insure that kind of car so will give an unrealistic high quote.

Rather bizzarely my renewal has gone down this year. I paid £516 on my new Cayman S last Jan. Renewal is £489, and doing the quote on line it came out at £390. So I'll decline their offer of renewing automatically then take out their on-line quote!

Oh yes, Privilege.

Elephant quoted me an extra £200 more than last year rang them and asked why ? they asked for my details again..... then surprise surprise they offerfed me £100 off the initial bid rang around and A plan beat them by a fair margin, rang elephant back again to say i would be leaving - they offered another £50 off

By that point it was clear to me that i would much rather give my business to someone who valued it....

I would have thought their business model would have been built on customer retention but maybe im wrong.

To be fair they were the cheapest around when i had zero no claims..... go figure ...

Nerv - where are they based or do you have a number?

Do they do track day insurance?

can beat that - when renewing premium on my Boxster S it went from £850 to £1800 !!! Only change was one £1k claim (100% recovered from other party) and one additional year of no claims (my tenth). I rang up and they said that it looked odd, eventually came down to £1200. See ya, hello LV at £880. Do they just rely on inertia/laziness/stupidity?

I never have the same company two years running - last year with NU and at renewal they wanted £900 - bell direct halved that and protected my NCD.

0115 941 5255 option 4 then option 2.

yes, they do track cover, you get ten free days with most policies at uk tracks.

christ alone knows why youd need that though. or even road insurance for that matter. cant you get decent mantlepiece cover anywhere?

Direct Line. Strong if you have more than one car in the house insured with them..they went down a couple of quid this year for me. About £800 PA for a C2 997 not garaged.
