Good luck with the 996 Topcat......after a 965 I reckon you will live with the new toy for a few months and then want the old one back!
Anyhow what is wrong with using the car too much,,,i reckon a 996 is going to depreciate more than your current car over the next 2 years.
I genuinely wish you well with the new car,not trying to wind you up,I had a new 996 and went back to an older 911, but that was just my experience...
all the best CS

I agree with you clubsport, at £23K whats the worst a few miles can do to the value? on a 40,50 or 60k 996 it will do quite a bit of damage!

I would tend to agree with CS on this....I went from a 930 to a 996......I would certainly go back to an older 911 again, rather than a 996.

Thanks CS, i have been telling myself that im doing the sensible thing, i have a 996 lined up at the mo but i think i ought to get a roadtest in a 993 as i love the aircooled engine. Damn i thought i had it all sorted.
Happy new year and i will keep you posted on what i get just so long as the turbo sells soon.

Doh... now look what i've gone and started!

its over 10yrs old (Just) so some form of classic policy maybe possible, which could result in big savings (i insure my lotus for £320!) maybe put a post up about insuring a 10yr old 911?

Hi from the Tivver corner

Happy New Year to all Porkers

Could a 993 turbo 4 be the answer to your needs? According to form they are sound for the daily commute. Just a thought anyway

MOD.
