Chipped X50 ... that'll do nicely
Discussion
A little birdie just told me that Autocar have had a chipped X50 996 turbo on test (you can probably guess who's doing the chip & exhaust and who's doing the test) - Watch out for an article in one of the next few issues.
Can't give too much away or the nice chap that told me will be in the poo.... but the figures I just heard were pretty astonishing.
Do I dare risk the warranty?

I would be grateful if you could put a post on here when the article comes out (or anyone else who sees it first).
Ta.
On the chipped 996T note, popped in to West today to drop some bits off for me mowta & fully living up to my pikey tag I was trying to blag Rays 240bhp Cooper S for the same weekend as Brunters, to 1- show a mate with an S on Sat how well thay can go when played with & 2- take it to Brunters on the Sun for a giggle through the traps at the end of the day- Ray reckons it should see a real 150
Anyway sorry going off topic a bit there- so anyway we are chatting & I told him about Brunters & the sort of cars going & he said you wanna take my chipped 996T up there, with along run up ive had it up to XXXmph, it might not hit that on the short Brunters runway but it should be a good battle against an x50 or the Ruf.....
So what do ya reckon shall I try & work on him so I can take it up there (and grovel to Craig for a run on the strip) to see what difference chipping a stock 996T makes......
Edited to remove 996 speed- lets just say it was very very very rapid

Having sold two cars (and my soul to the devil) to buy the Turbo... I had a Cooper S for a while to tide me over (not chipped) - I have to say, corners in the mini were MUCH more fun than any other car I've driven. I FINALLY found a use for the handbrake!
FWD means it'll never have 30 -100 times to boast, but hell it's fun.
Off to watch Italian Job - bought today.

Hmm that may indeed be so, however with a couple of yr old chipped 996T running at at under half the price of the Ruf (1/3rd if you got a LHD cheapie 996T) I don't think he will cry about it tho
I'll see if I can blag somat- insurance may be the pain tho.
