Which V12 Italian cars are most affordable, in top condition, say from 1994 onwards?

I want a V12, have from £30K to £50K to spend and want something with FSH and in great nick.

Please advise if you know about values of these exotic cars!

Had a drive of a Ferrari 355 F1 Berlinetta last night. 1998, as new, 26000 miles, sports exhaust. The guy just paid £48K for this car which sounded brilliant and went well.

"Only" has a V8.

30k-50k will buy a lot of Italian V12s, from Diablo to 456.

Depends what sort of car you want really - 2 or 4 seats. Sports or GT. Etc.

I think 512TRs are good value at the moment and look much better in the flesh than the earlier or later cars (sorry to the guys who own these ).

You're looking at a very good condition 456 or an early 550 for V12s.

512 isn't a V12 if I remember correctly.

I think it can rightly be described as a 180deg V12, due to the firing order.

The earlier cars have the Boxer engines, which fire differently.

Is the 'V' denomination subject to it's firing order or physical outlay?

Sorry not being pedantic, actually curious.

I've tried to refresh my memory on this by searching the web, but couldn't find the relevant articles! I'm sure there's probably something suitable on FChat so will have a look.

There's a difference between a "boxer" engine and a "v". I think you may be right in that it's the physical config, but by implication the firing order will be significantly different.

I suspect "flat" depends on your context. However, if you picture a 180deg V it'll look flat...as would a boxer engine.

Any which way, V8 should have a good thiink about what he wants the car to do. a 512TR, 512M or 456 would all fit. Maybe a 550 too if lucky. All very different cars.

2+2...

Whichever you buy, it'll be somewhat different to an R400 The engine alone will weigh more!
