Its growing on me, like the 612 did, although the 550 is still better IMO (looks, not performance, this new thing is nearly in Enzo territory 600+BHP!! )

Yep, days of good looking Ferraris is gone.. now I can only appreciate them from a technical/performance point of view. 600+bhp in a car weighing 200kg lighter than a 550/575 is going to be good.

A bit too satanic for my liking.

I agree, and I totally love the 612 also. Nice dark colour, they look imo stunning in the flesh

I'm sure the interior's lovely.

This does NOT hold a candle to the 550/575. The scoops and ducts thing is nice from the F430/Enzo point of view, but doesn't sit well with the 599.

All IMHO of course.

I can't get used to the proportions.
Front too flat, back too high.
And those pentagram wheels... They just scream 'REPLACE ME'

1. Those wheels are NOT good at all.

2. In no way is as beautiful/lithe as the 550/575

Yes, I'm sure it's very competent..

Those rear buttress spoilers don't work for me. They seem to live up to their name.

I dont think i will ever get to like this one. When the 612 was launched was 50/50. Now I love that. But the 599, I cant seem to like the front, back, or side. Shame coz its a big lost opportunity.

As much as it pains me to say it, I agree, the Z06 design is much better resolved than the 599, especially with the racecar front bumper.

500bhp and c.£110K cheaper.

What has happened to Ferraris designers? The 60s saw some absolutely gorgeous creations coming out of Modena, now they just seem to butcher a gorgeous car (550/575) and come up with something thats badly proportioned. It is growing on me, but Ferraris are supposed to be things that make you go weak at the knees and start drooling...

Wasn't the 599, styled by Pininfarina but with a lot of involvement by a British guy at Ferrari, who oversaw the project and perhaps had a major influence on the finished proposal?

Personally I don't blame Pininfarina.

I don't blame Pininfarina either.. they don't sign-off a design, they just put forward designs to Ferrari.

I blame the blind man who thought that looked good.

I also don't buy the "every crease, vent, sculpting is functional.." Many powerful cars managed to be beautiful without looking so compromised stylistcally
