There is the suggestion that a very limited run of one off specials will be done. But IIRC something like 50 units were mentioned and likely none for export. But who knows, pure speculation until its official.
Of course you can build your own![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

NiceFrom what I can gather the engine mounts are the same so in theory it should drop in.
However, you'll def want to look at new clutch and I'm not sure about the T56 gearbox.
Should be ok in standard LS7 trim but add a supercharger and you are looking at a potential 700bhp and 600lb/ft torque.
You'd want to be looking at the successor to the T56 - the TR-6060 which is rated for 600lb/ft torque.
Probably look at about 15-20k complete at least.
this is assuming the rest of the setup is fine (electronic harnesses, fuel pump, oil cooling, driveshafts, differential).
One reason why it is unlikely to appear in a VXR8 anytime soon. Maybe in a few years as a one off special (ala VXR500).

Except it's only the block itself which is ls7. Their ad is a tad misleading imo. Still, it's almost as good as an ls7 albeit it with heavier internals and forged pistons. The price is certainly better. Of course you can build your own

You do a VXR8 700 and I will trade my VXR600 in ok... :coffee:
They only did the VXR500 to shift the last few Monaros & to be fair there's a big difference between fitting a non-intercooled supercharger and a whole new engine, gearbox, drive-shafts etc.
Now if it was priced under 30k that would be another matter!

Not true.............the VXR500 just came out at the same time as networkQ started selling off Monaro's
...just before it was discontinued.[/quote]
The 500 was done as a farewell shot to the Monaro. It was conceived and tested 12 months before the last cars went on sale and was sold out in December last year, Monaro's continued to be sold past March.
The LS7 titanium stuff is more aimed at its 7000rpm + redline than durability. If you went a traditional forged setup like from sdpc you wouldnt be reving it as hard, but forged steel parts are certainly not going to be that much weaker if any than the OEM LS7, they are probably stronger. You will find plenty of guys on ls1tech who think the stock LS7 setup is pretty weak. Nobody recommends much boost on them etc.
Agree on the titanium vs forged steel - it depends how you are going to generate the engines power.
If going for a low revving torque engine then forged steel is the better option as it would most likely take the extra force better. Power through rpm is another matter where you want everything to be as light as possible and the strength problem is different.

Ok, I guess you guys should know.So will you be doing the same for the VXR8? How about a Whipple Supercharged LS7 with 800hp?
