VXR8 top gear this week?
Discussion
(edited to add... I mean next week, not this sunday)
Dunno if anyone here is more in the know but I'm off to Top Gear's filming next Wednesday (I guess it's next Sunday's show?) and a little birdie tells me it's time for some HSV magic on the beeb.
I might have to let out an "Aussie Aussie Aussie" from the stalls

Was it on last night?
I missed the show but will catch it on Tuesday if it was worth watching

No, it wasn't on. Show was just the normal really - lots of funny bits but nothing really interesting. Some of the British Leyland pieces were very funny though.....Worth a watch.
I was at the VXR8 filming, it was supposed to be about members of the public looking for a £35 grand 4 door saloon to try out an alternative to mainstream models ie BMW, Merc, Audi etc.
JC loves the VXR8 and he spent a lot of time smoking the rear tyres around the track. I got to drive the car which convinced me that the decision to buy one was correct(I was awaiting delivery at the time).
My part(along with the 5 others there)in the program has been canned and it is now just JC going sideways a lot.
Would of loved to be on the show but sadly will have to put my TV career on hold.

Yep, good day out, if any of you get lucky enough to go, and i do say lucky as 16,000 people applied for tickets for that show, and only 600 got tickets!J
The first impression you get is in the car park which is full of "crap" old cars, full of 20/30 year olds. So the VXR / VXR8 were out of place to start with!!!!! As for me I was far to old to be mixed up with a load of sickophants (is that how you spell that?) and wannabees.
Still a good day out, and nice to meet a couple of Aussies with bald heads batting and balling with J.C. (nice chap by the way).
Good to see you Raggyman and HSVGTSCOUPE .

Any idea when this show is sheduled. I dont want to miss it!
The VXR8 is on this Sunday, and I think J.C. said that their slot had been moved back to 9pm.Just another throw away, Top Gear is now BBC's number one programme with 11.5 million viewers in the uk on Sunday nights.
From BBC TV Guide
Top Gear
Sun 2 Dec, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm 60mins
Website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear
Richard drives a Formula 1 car, Jeremy and James rampage through a historic vehicle collection attempting to find the first car with the control layout we know today and the Vauxhall VXR8 grunts around the test track. Plus, a BMW that can drive itself, James Blunt in a Reasonably Priced Car and F1 star Lewis Hamilton is a very special guest in the studio. [S]

I caught last weeks rerun and have to correct JC on his tounge in cheek shot at the Aussies not designing and building cars of their own.
Whilst the brands are ultimately listed on the a foreign exchange the Aussie car making industry is very independant.
Correct me if I am wrong as I have been in the UK for 3 years but there is the
Ford Falcon,(Fairlane) and Territory
Holden Commodore and Statesman (more exported than sold locally)
Mitsubishi 380
The Aus market certainly consumes more domestic models as a percentage of total sales than the UK
