I’m in love with a stripper
Discussion
Here are a couple of pics of the girl with her top down…
New to the car, new to the brand, and loving every minute so far.
Having made my mind up on getting into an Aston, it didn’t start very well. Appointment made to go to Stratstone Mayfair, where the salesman was super dismissive once I told him that I wanted to change my car in a couple of months and not that day… Anyway, thought I would venture a little further from the snobbery that can be central London and headed to Stratstone Western-Ave. It couldn’t have been a more different story. Both Stuart and Adrian walked me through the whole story, test drove a couple of cars to get a feel. And my mind was made up – it had to be a V8V.
With the spec in mind, the guys were honest and said it would be tough to find a light coloured interior on vantage, and whilst I would have held out for them to find one, they said it could be a few months… So after a few weeks of hunting on my own, found an independent in Surrey who amongst all the Veyrons, Lambos and other exotica had almost exactly what I was looking for. After a quick test drive, not 100% sure about the SS, I returned the next day for a longer play. Having opened up on Sunday specifically for me, Ben just gave me the keys on trust to go and drive her on my own for 30-45 mins!!
Well, I fell in love with her, and I’m the proud new owner. Can’t thank Ben and Mike at Romans enough for getting her ready for me, and sorting out the few niggles that she had after reading this forum (thanks to the AM PH writers too, and Grants book which came after the purchase!). Great guys who know their supercars through and through.
And as for this forum, I’ve caught the bug and I hope to add some mods that will be done at BR in the coming months when she needs a service, new clutch etc… and keep everyone updated. Yes it does take a little getting used to the SS but I think I’m almost there, having covered 450 miles this week, we are getting to know each other – will let you know when I mastered parking in a space that is smaller than 20ft. The satnav – cumbersome, yes, but no different really to a 7 year old merc system is it? The growl, the pur, awesome… Best way to sum it is, shes a great sportscar, and a good GT.
But for the time being, I am wishing the winter days away and longing for spring/summer to kick in so that I can drop the top and enjoy my little stripper properly.Looking forward to contributing more as the months roll by.

Hey Hash
Welcome to the fold.
If you're in London and fancy joining us for some lunchtime through to evening beer and burger antics (perhaps followed by curry) then see this thread.
Dog and Duck is at W1D 3AJ

If you can't make that one, it seems to have become a monthly thing!

Evening All, I truly feel welcome and amongst great company!!
After owning 5 porkers over the years, none of them have given me that stupidly huge grin like the Aston – although the ’89 964 C2 Cab does come close – but then again it is different to modern run of Germanys finest.
@Dave – the blue is amazing, with a little grey and a little green in it, it definitely has best of all three colours – although she does need a high polish to bring out the best. We may be the only two in the UK with this colour – I think it was discontinued – super happy that it’s a rarity.
@robgt – my list of things to change began before I got the car. I have it ordered something like… 1) fuse 22, number plate plinth when the private reg arrives 2) service, latest clutch setup, glass switches. 3) exhaust – all planned before the end of the summer.
@peterr96 – Huge thanks for the heads up! I will definitely try and make it one of these coming months when I’m not travelling the earth!
