This seems like a good value "new" car - Yellow V8V.

Obviously the colour is why it's not selling! Is this tasteless, or would it be OK? I would think it could be wrapped quite easily if you couldn't live with the colour as it is, and you'd still be getting a pretty good deal. Apart from the lack of premium audio it's a good spec otherwise.

Rather than spending c£65K or a two year old car, I'm thinking this might actually cost less in the long run by the time depreciation and warranties are taken into account (assuming I'd keep it for at least 3 years ...).

I resent your comment! Sunburst yellow is the best colour for a V8V (much better in the sunshine though), especially a Roadster. I may be biased though wink

And at least I bought mine for myself, not the next owner!

My last car was a yellow lotus and looked fantastic.
Also like the look of yellow 911s, but not so sure I would get a yellow Aston...

Perhaps "tasteless" wasn't the best choice of word! Perhaps "loud" may have been better!

I think yellow tends to suit roadsters better as the contrast provided by the roof looks good.
The Porsche yellow is quite a rich colour which looks good on the smaller cars IMO. Is the AM yellow quite a light colour, though? Don't think I've ever seen one in the metal ...

No, it's not pale, it's a rich pearlescent yellow which, despite my earlier flippant remark, does look superb in the sun.

Thanks for the pic. That does look nice! Is it difficult to keep clean? (Or perhaps I should ask, does it have to be spotless to look good? I live on a farm!)

Ive seen the car in the flesh and it is stunning and the black leather bucket seats with yellow stiching really go well. I love it - a really sporty colour combo, but I do agree it wouldnt be to many peoples tastes.

Maybe not everyone will like it, but do you? That's what's important. biggrin

Personally I think it's gorgeous.

I am seriously tempted! Stunning car.
A good price too. Obviously, it will not be as easy to sell on as a mainstream colour, but you should buy based on whether its the car for you or not imho.

I think I saw this car last year when I was there. Think it was around £90k then! It looks even more fabulous in the flesh. A real eye-opener.
Why not go for it?!

Looks like a bargain, I've just purchase an orange sort of colour AMV8 and I love it. Also 99% of people who have actually seen it in the flesh love the colour. Personally I think the yellow is a bit louder but still like it and the price is right, just take into account you will probably have to sell for less but it's all relevant. Go for it, they are great cars.

You're welcome - any excuse! I've previously owned predominantly black cars, and the yellow is no worse to keep looking clean than those. My previous V8Vs were meteorite, which didn't look as dirty as it sometimes was, but the silvers just became too predictable/boring, for me anyway. You can't be shy though - V8Vs get enough attention in sober colours! And I'm not sure you'd take a hit on selling on unless you needed to sell quickly, there's always going to be someone for whom the yellow is the dog's danglies, it would just be a question of finding that person.

As to living on a farm, I think you'd have trouble keeping a car clean regardless of the colour?!

Hmm maybe with dark anthracite/black alloys side strikes and grilles it would look pretty mean..

Stunning, I'll take two. What a bargain you guys get your Astons for. The price equates to about $110k Aussie dollars. The same vehicle over here would be selling for over $300k (£180k). You are so lucky over there. Buy it asap. If you can,t live with it drop me a line and I'll take it off your hands, just got to think of a way to squirrel it back into Australia. So so envious. thumbupweeping

I would say if you could live with the colour go for it! That car has to be "as new" with 350mi on the clock and at least £10k less than anything else of comparable age/milage.

In the add for the vehicle is says "VAT qualifying vehicle" what does that mean? With the prices given In the dealer adds are they 'driveway' if not what extra costs do you pay in the UK for first time registration. I still reckon snap it up or I may look at buying it. Anyone interested in owning a V8V for 12 months at no cost to them (yes you can drive it) then moving to Australia?

Darker wheels would definitely improve it:

I agree dark wheels set the yellow off well, but if you've got the Sportpack, it would be a bit daft to replace the lightweight rims with the heavier original style 7 spokes (although I nearly did!).

At first, I thought the yellow would be a definite NO. The ad really doesn't do it justice.
But looking at the photo above... WOW!!! Fantastic!
Add carbon fibre side strakes and diffuser to that and you have one very special car!!

The one for sale is an excellent price for the spec.
And, yes, that would be the driveaway price too. Although you may need to pay the years road tax (£435) and a tank of fuel (£90) but these can usually be negotiated with the dealer.

Looks better with red lights IMO.

And I think a tank fuel's pushing 100 quid now!
