I am off to view this car tomorow with my chequebook in hand.

Z4 3.0i SE
One Owner
Sterling grey
18" Wheels
85,000 miles
Premium HiFi

Asking price £8,900

They will also prep the car to BMW dealer standard and remove any blemishes on the wheels/paint.

Have done some preliminary negotiating on the phone.

£300 off the advert price, 12 months Tax and 6 month warranty.

My only worry is that i will tip it over 100,000 which will take a chunk off the value.

Also any concerns about this mileage? I'm assuming they were built to last (my 5 e34 had 200,000 on it and drive perfectly.

Still too expensive in my book. You can pick up 30-40k examples for 10-11k.

Hang in there, the January sales are just starting!

Not too many about though. The cheapest manual 3.0i on PH is £11,500 and on autotrader the next cheapest in a decent colour is £10,000 and that has crap spec or £9,900 but that only has 10,000 miles less on it.

I think ill hold out for an extra £300 off, i doubt the dealer will have me walking out of the showroom over that much.

It'll probably handle 100k+ miles without a problem, but high mileage will knacker resale on a car like the Z4. And I too reckon it's still a bit expensive despite the mileage.

If you'd been quicker you'd have beaten me to this one for under £10.5k: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/821413.htm (now sold!)

Just remember, an asking price is an asking price. Some people will move on the price others won't. Depends on their curcumstances!

It is fairly high mileage, how long are you planning on keeping it? If you can hang on and spend a little more I can't help but think you could get a much better bargain.

Great looking cars.

Realistically ill probably keep it 1-2 years as i like to change a lot. The spec and the fact its pretty mint means i dont mind paying the price.

Perhaps it would be reasonable to haggle for a full years warranty instead, a bit of piece of mind for a full year would be nice.

One owner car, in addition the the spec listed it also has Xenons. They will also prep the car to BMW dealer standard and remove any blemishes on the wheels/paint.

Personally think that car is a real bargain. My Z4 sold for 12K with 43000 miles on the clock, identical spec and was not even a 3.0L.

O/T but you might want to remove your postcode from the linky.

Sorry! ;-) Just came along at the right time for me, although I know the owner had been trying to sell (at higher prices) for a while with no success.

Let us know how you get on today with viewing the car from the original post.

Do you really need a Z4 to be dripping in spec anyway? It's a fun convertible hardly the sort of car that really needs Satnav and a Bluetooth telephone.

Bought it at £8500 (or £8200 + a years tax and 6 month warranty)

The car was MINT, apart from 2 tiny marks on the front bumper you could have told me the car came out of the factory the day before and i'd have believed you! Drove like new also. From the condition of the interior i have little doubt the car has just been up and down the motorway for most of its life.

The HiFi is awsome, as is the heater which still keeps you warm even with the rood down. Wasnt as fast as i was hoping (maybe it had 95RON in the tank?) and the engine is a tad quiet but i dont care one bit.

Can't believe i nearly bought an S2000 instead of this beauty. To say i am happy with the car is an understatement biggrin

Pick it up a week today, dont think im going to get much sleep!

Nice, glad you have bought one!

There is one over in Stockport right now on 69,000 miles for £8995, with loads of kit...

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/BMW+...

That looks like a great car too... if it's one lady owner and FBMWSH then it should be good.

I'm just waiting for my review in the new year then going to start really looking properly. Done my sums and it all makes good sense so far... smile

PS, I test drove a 2.5Si today, the sports seats are a good bet, just I doubt I'll find an early 3.0 with them. Great little cars though. As you found it didn't feel THAT fast for 214bhp, and it was a bit quiet... great feel, ride and handling setup though, runflats and all it felt solid, smooth and planted even on rough stuff!
Only thing I thought was that the back wheels seemed to steer a bit over bumps... a bit of toe change under bump on rough stuff... really noticed over a high crowned road with lumps and bumps on. That seemed to disappear as you went faster and rode over bumps rather than through them though smile

Not sure I want to spend THAT much though, still in warranty, low miles, and a nice car, but when you can get early 3.0's for £9000 with good spec like you, it's hard to justify the extra! £5000 difference could get you a supercharger wink

Can't wait to get myself one biggrin

Arse, that one wasnt for sale when i went to look at mine! It has 15k few miles, xenons and heated seats for the same money! Oh well thats life, doubt its in as good condition anyway.

Definatley get one, i dont think there is any other car i would prefer for this money (for my bachelor needs anyway!). Just epic, i also think they look much better in the flesh than in photos (which is still good) and they are still a rare car - 2 boxsters on the road to every Z4 for example.
