Any idea of when this will actually hit the market?

Some are suggesting that if may be the end of the year. I'm more than half tempted to go for an A5 3.0 tdi, but since it was first suggested, I'd thought that 350 bhp in a TT might be a bit of fun. If it were imminent, I might wait, if not, I may go for the A5.

Any opinions on the A5 by the way?

Ahh yeah, no these were TTS's, I misread, sorry!

It's meant to go on sale at around £40,000 at the end of this year or very early on in 2009

The TT RS is a myth. At the moment Audi have no plans to make this car or the RS 5 as some people are also saying. Audi only ever make one RS product at a time and have only just released the RS6 so even if they do decide to make a TT version The RS6 still has over 2 years to run. Below is a offical statment from Audi themselves to one of my Salesman who had a customer wanting to put a deposit down on one.

On the front cover of this month's issue of Car magazine (out this week) there is a mocked up image of an 'RS 5'. The 'RS 5' model does not exist - the pictures have been digitally created by Car magazine using the S5 as a basis.
Inside, the magazine has devoted eight pages for a head-to-head battle between Audi and BMW, pitching the 'RS 5' against the "proposed, lightweight M3 CSL".

Any customers mentioning this article should be advised that the Audi shown in Car magazine is purely a rendering based on media speculation.

The RS 4 and RS 6 are a fixed part of quattro GmbH’s strategy. We are examining on a case-by-case basis whether to extend the series to include other model lines.

I hope this helps with this matter.

Moving on to the A5. It is a fantastic car the 3.0 TDI is extremly quick with a 0-60 time of 5.9 secs but also with a combined mpg of 39.2 which having had one as a company car twice now is fairly realistic. If your buying new or used make sure it has sat nav and the Y design alloy wheels as these are highly desirible features and will help your re-sale value greatly. Also stick to normal colours with the only exections being White or Sprint blue.

If you would like any more info please feel free to E-mail with your Questions. I have a few in stock so could send you some pictures no problem.

Hallo
Many thanks for that clarifying info. I collected my TTS Roadster in July and I am rather happy to drive it for a time and not being *forced* to think about
an RS too soon, great little car, good punch, and even the brakes are OK.

If this is the case how do you explain the test mule spy shots of both cars which are all over the internet? Various TTR (it is unlikely to be called TTRS) prototypes have been caught on film at the Nordschleife and at least one RS5 mule has shown up hot weather testing in the US. Are you claiming that Audi have no intention of building either? I spoke to an Audi AG employee at the Brands Hatch DTM and he confirmed that both cars are definitely planned although various engine options are still being evaluated.

Not saying that at all. If you had read my comments carefully all i am saying is there are no plans at thee moment to build either of these cars. Not saying they never will. You can always ring Audi uk and they will tell you exactly the same. The main question was if it was worth waiting for the TTRS and the answer is no because it is not even confirmed there will be such a model as yet.

I understood what you were saying - I was merely querying your assertion that there are no plans to build these cars when numerous test mules have already been seen, and photos/videos of them posted on several sites for some time now. It is my understanding that such prototypes do not see the light of day on public roads until the model for which they are built has been signed off for development.

On another forum there are several posters who have inside information from quattro GmbH, and all maintain that these cars are definitely planned for 2009.

The TT RS is a myth.

Not according to last weeks Auto Express. Article Headed, Audi's Son of R8

TT RS with a twin turbo 5 pot in line 350 bhp engine, due on sale at the end of the year about £40,000.

So who's got it wrong then ???

Auto express have been banging on about a TT RS since 2006!

Just had another sweep of the 'official' channels and still no mention, not even the normal denial statements!

This is getting interesting. It just does not make sense there is so much interest in the car you think they would make it offical and start taking deposits. We knew about other new models such as TTS, Q5, A1 and A3 cab upto a year before the release date and have also been able to take deposits on R8 Deisel and v10 so its a really strange one.
