Hi all,

Any info/ideas on "real world" prices of year old D3 HSE's in a desirable colour/ average mileage?-have looked at some dealer sites and prices are all over the place-would be interested to know what kind of prices/deals are being achieved out there?...any info much appreciated?

Cheers

buying? Think of a price and add 20%.
Selling? Think of a price and take off 20%

A guy who came around here to quote for a job was driving a 2008 57 plate HSE... he paid £19k for it (20k miles) at a recent LR auction (his wife works there and they got to attend the auction that LR holds to get rid of its management cars)...

A quick look on autotrader reveals plenty of 3 year old sub 40k miles HSE's for well under £20k, seem to start about £16k and you can have a 56 plate for c£19k....

Looked at autotrader a bit further and main dealers are selling 57 plates at c£23k so I guess £19k would tie in with that. Looks like these are still dropping c£1k per month and I imagine dealers woudl be very open to doing a deal if no trade in.

Thanks for your input guys...really fancy one of these and it's getting very tempting! would plan on keeping the car for some years and it's getting to the point where even the draconian RFL and likely(?)high fuel costs will be offset by the value for money that these cars are starting to represent!

Cheers

I am very tempted to get back in to a Disco - and have been looking at 2008 HSE autos... they do appear to be falling in price yet, like many others, I'm going to wait a few months and see what 2009 has in store before jumping in.

btw - I called a LR dealer that has quite a few fresh HSEs on Autotrader. When I mentioned that I did not have any part-ex and was a cash buyer the salesman dropped the price from £25k (57 HSE auto) to £22k without any effort on my part..."if you can pay & collect before New Year..."

I guess waiting a few more months wont hurt...

I'm looking to purchase at the end of March begining of April - no trade in, straight buy. 08 HSE at £20K ish would be nice. Is that possible? only do around 12k a year so mileage is not a big issue to me.

Thanks

Don

08 HSE at 20K , I doubt it is possible. That would be 50% depreciation in less than a year. 2 yr old one would be poss though IMHO

Following on from my previous post - the guy who came around in the 57 plate HSE... it was a 2008 car - and it was 8 months old (20k miles) when he paid £19k for it...

Great cars. We have had our D3 for a few years now, and it fits the bill perfectly, 3 kids, dog,

Just bought an 08 SE with a few extra goodies valued at £2467. Cost of vehcle - gross - with 2 years unlimited mileage warranty was £24K. Net £21500K allowing for the extras. Well pleased with that.
