I sold my business in Sept this year - we used BDO on the Corporate Finance side. They did a good job. I can put you in touch with someone over there if you want?

Hi Mosi,

The turnover is around £500k, too small for the 'big boys' I think. Would sought small specialist, anyone dealt with Knightsbridge or RTA ?

If I were you I'd avoid a certain business sales company with a London suburb type name.
I've been using them for 6 months now and am more than ready to dump them when my contract expires.
They are worse than useless.
The first potential buyer they dug up recieved ALL of my details, company name, address, accounts, the works without the mention to him of an N.D.A!!
They have'nt been exactly dynamic since.
They are crap

All the best

That is unbelievable - they must be in breach of contract.

Mark,
When I signed up with KN..... Business Sales I gave them the sole rights to sell my business.
I paid them £995 +vat up front with a promise to pay them £5k on completion of sale.
If no sale was made after 6 months I was able to withdraw from the contract with no further fee.

At the end of this month, that time is up and I'll be exercising my right to bin them.
They are without doubt one of the most uprofessional outfits I have ever come accross and I'll be well rid.

With regard to the NDA,

When I vented my spleen at their 'team leader' over this, it appears that the salesman - who is now uncontactable to me - had forgotten to tell them that one was required.
I suggested to them that they read the contract and find it noted on there, they apologised and made the usual excuses.
As it happens nothing came of the situation re the chap who got my details, if anything had then I would certainly have been out of my pram!

That sounds very unprofessional I will body swerve the KN group.
Anyone dealt with RTA, and is it the norm to pay up front rather than on completion?
