New Amazon Prime Streaming - total crap!
Discussion
I'm already with Amazon prime and this has really annoyed me.
Originally had the one month trial and during this month they screwed up one package (took 3 days to arrive, not one). I mentioned this to them and they offered my 14months for £29. Obviously quite a good deal (think it's usually £39 per 12months?).
Now I tend to make use of the free one day shipping quite often so I had figured that come July I would leave on the auto-renew option.
Now with the new "fantastic" streaming service they have told me that I wont have to pay a penny extra until it comes time to renew. Although in July my subscription will be renewed at the "amazing low price of just £79" :| Apparently this is an impressive £41 saving each year!!
Right...
Spoke to them and you cannot have prime without the streaming option. Ok, so simple answer really, no more Amazon prime for me and I went in right away and switched off "auto renew".
Had they optioned "Amazon Prime" and "Amazon Prime PLUS streaming" they would still have a customer (prime is usefull, being able to time deliveries to exactly when you want them etc)

I did the exact same thing. Don't want the streaming option as the content is shockingly bad. I looked through the new releases and there was nothing I would have watched even if I was bored stiff...Originally had the one month trial and during this month they screwed up one package (took 3 days to arrive, not one). You also get Kindle lending library.... Great but I don't have a Kindle, just the app on my tablet. I think lots of people will leave because of this.

Not sure how this is going to pan out for me.. I'm an existing Prime and LOVEFILM customer and so far I've been unable to find out what will happen to my LOVEFILM subscription, the package I'm on with them is £9.99 a month for two discs at once and the streaming. They don't do this package any more (all the others are more expensive) and they don't offer one that doesn't have streaming so essentially if I want to keep my discs at home subscription I effectively have to pay for streaming twice! Really I think if they are going to combine these two then they need to do it properly not in this half-arsed way they are doing so far!

I'm currently with Lovefilm and frankly this is going to push me towards cancelling my subscription entirely. Otherwise I'm fairly sure that in a few months time I'll get a price increase and then an insistance that I have to pay a yearly subscription AND just have Prime Streaming. I've already been struggling to get round to watching the DVDs, I might as well put the money away each month and buy some boxsets when they're on sale.

I've had an email from them, Monday IIRC.It said that streaming is removed from my package - the same as yours, and the package price is being reduced by £5.99 accordingly.
So, unlimited discs, 2 at a time for £4 a month.
Got the same email earlier in the week, and was suitably livid, all set to cancel Prime, etc. Then noticed that it told me that (a) I would get streaming at no additional cost from 26 Feb 14, but (b) I wouldn't be charged the new £79 rate until March 2015.
I estimate that there is zero chance I will renew Prime in March 15, but at least I'm not getting done over before then.

The lottery of where you fall in the Prime renewal is interesting.. you essentially get streaming for free until March but I get it that way until September I estimate that there is zero chance I will renew Prime in March 15, but at least I'm not getting done over before then.
