I was sad to see Richard go, but I loved how they handled it with the dream sequence The next season will be the last so here's hoping they get to tie up the story lines in a satisfactory manner. I wonder if we will see Chalky again ?
Yeah it was sad.The next is the last? Really? How come?

Aw shucks. Hope it's creative reated and not ratings.I did get the feel there isn't anywhere for Nucky to go now.
The episode before the penultimate was the best. The penultimate seemed like it was written by a different script writer and was all over the shop. The finale was great though. Sad there will only be one more series but I reckon probably for the best. Won't be sorry to see the back of Richard- could never hear him and felt he was two faced.

Not happy that it will be the last one though. I don't think there are any other shows like it?

In what sense? My favourite films all feature the Godfather, Goodfellas, Scarface, Casino, American Gangster, Carlito's way. Just not many programs which are like Boardwalk Empire?
I know there is The Wire. Enjoyed the 1st series but couldn't hack the 2nd series.
I enjoyed Top Boy too which isn't exactly the same but has the grittiness of Boardwalk Empire I think.
Banshee is entirely different from a mobster themed series though. Lots of bone-crunching fighting and gratuitous sex makes it easy on the eye. Lack of any real plot (I mean there is one, and it holds promise, but it's wafer thin)makes it easy on the brain. Easily the best under-the-radar recent series.

I think Banshee has more in common with something like Sin City - more comic book style.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur9nKMUuEZo&sn...
Looking forward to this now. I just hope it doesn't go all "Lost" and the writers lose their way.

Thanks for the link, final season looking good. Lost went downhill way before final season. Looking forward to this now. I just hope it doesn't go all "Lost" and the writers lose their way.
Each season of Boardwalk Empire has raised the bar and I always wonder how the story will develop throughout the season.
The acting is top notch and the quality of the writing superb. Can't wait for season 5

Although, the question has to be asked as it's the last season; will wee see some other spin off series' as Al Capone comes up?
