This is getting ridiculous!

I think the 964 looks a lot prettier with a narrow body, though I do like the aggressiveness of the Turbo.
I'd happily settle for a C2 or C4 at this point, as long as it's a Coupe. Given a like-for-like choice, I'd probably go for the C4, just because I think it would be a bit more forgiving to someone that hasn't really driven a rear-drive 911.
But beggars can't be choosers

This is where Porsche is very clever. "One of 8 UK cars". Well is it? Porsche sold around 62,000 964's and nearly 4k turbos. There were over 13 variants of the same car, some that sold in big numbers a some that didn't. What other car manufacture releases 13 versions of the same car? Porsche were effectively modifying current models, to boost sales (pun intended), as they were almost bankrupt and their attempt to build actual new models were fairly unsuccessful (928, 924, 944, 968). I doubt very much the the Turbo S was designed from the ground up... more likely someone in marketing said "lets take some bits off that turbo, increase the boost and we'll sell it as a new model". Surely people are wise to this?
I believe the truest version in any 911 range has to be the C2S, as this is what the car is designed to be from day one.
AFAIK its one of 8 RHD of 80 Worldwide - regardless of its roots whether ground up or bolted together from other bits.I believe the truest version in any 911 range has to be the C2S, as this is what the car is designed to be from day one.
Can't recall a 964 C2S being built though.

My favourite 964 C2, as late a car as possible.

‘And that will in turn lead to an increase in other things, such as the number of people saying, ‘Jesus Christ, since when is a G-series Carrera worth 80k?’.......not directed at Essex by chance! 911 world market info
have always been a huge fan of the 964 for what it is (or was )...but....usual bubble talk Vs investment BS as well as ridiculous prices for very average examples aside, the spread on prices of what are very far from differing animals is very weird.
narcissism of incredibly small differences.

The Turbo S 3.3 Lightweight is a Porsche motorsport seam welded shell, like the RSR. It was the only road going 964/965 car sold with Ally doors and has special carbon Kevlar bonnet. They drive awesome, and in my opinion much better than XJ220, and some of the other stuff mentioned.
I think compared to other stuff some Porsche models have been well under valued for years. Why is no one bulking at other exotic prices. Daytona's have gone from sub £100k cars to £750k cars in the same period as the dramatic Porsche increases. Dino's from 40k to 300k and a total yawn to drive. Just my opinion.

This isn't the correct rear tail, the leitchbau has a specific tail similar to regular 965 but has plastic rather than rubber/PVC edge.
There's a great spec sheet here, this car is a very special Porsche IMO equally as special as the 993GT2 although not raced as extensively.

Why has the rear tail been questioned. This is the correct rear tail for a 965 Turbo S 3.3 Lightweight. Don't confuse it with the 3.6 Turbo S heavy weight.

Hmmm, you've lost me there Paul, not totally convinced by your logic. The Turbo S 3.3 Lightweight is a Porsche motorsport seam welded shell, like the RSR. It was the only road going 964/965 car sold with Ally doors and has special carbon Kevlar bonnet and RSR rear tail.
Original 3.3 965/964 Turbo :
3.6 965/964 Turbo :
3.3 Turbo S leichtbau :
I'm not aware of the Turbo S ever having been supplied with the 964 3.8 RS/RSR rear spoiler/engine cover. I was always under the impression the Turbo S item was a bespoke lightweight carbon/Kevlar/GRP assembly.

You're not getting off that lightly Paul ! ! Your hasty post will remain quoted on here for time immemorial now
LOL. I realised the mistake directly after the post and was in the process of editing while you were in the process of gathering evidence for the prosecution. :-)gt2-r said:

I went to view and sat in the Faldo car when it was up for sale with Andrew Mearns at Gmund.
I looked at the weave in the bonnet (visible from the outside) and thought that fitting a 964 RS ali bonnet would be a better option !
Once inside I checked out the red horn push and thought "that'd have to go/be retrimmed"
But the thing I really struggled with was the price. I'd just sold my Guards Red 964 RS for £30K, the Faldo car was £60k and I really couldn't see the value in it at twice that of the RS I'd sold ........ Class A muppetry
Still, all's not lost ......
