err....did no-one else think this was totally over the top??
Have you watched the previous series? It's great because it's a bit over the top and very complex.

It certainly started with a bang!

Anyone else reckon Ep1 would end up with Thandie Newton about to be sawn up by the Forensic guy?

If you did, you're lying biggrin

Nope

But I guessed she'd wake up because a lead character doesn't get chopped up in EP1

They have history with this. Remember Keeley Hawes? Did not see that outcome coming. It had potential, but did not actually expect it to happen.

I did think there you don't sign up an A-list Hollywood actress like Thandie Newton then bump her off at the end of Ep 1.

Or do you?

Note the pointed leaving of her mobile at home (presumably so she could deny ever going to his flat, her knowing that it would not be possible to ID her location via phone tracking, if he complained) and the drop into the plot that his CCTV door entry was controlled by his own (deleteable by a forensic geek) computer, then they could be lining it up for her to totally disappear at the hands of Tim.

AC12 then get investigated for leaning on her too heavily, "turn the screw" etc ... that's a proper plot tailspin!

But if you do bump her off in episode 1, you presumably have to pay her a lot less than you would if she was in the whole series, whilst still getting to do the old, 'Starring an A list Hollywood actor' spin beforehand

Just watched it and eek at the ending of episode 1...

I loved how the forensic guy looked about as stereotypically "dodgy, murderer bloke" as you could when he went into the hardware store. laugh

I reckon the lights go up, the two of them are on a stage, and the audience comprises student forensic investigators who shout out all the ways that he couldn't possibly get away with it, while the real story goes on outside.

she did leave it at home but did you not see the shot of a car pulling up outside, We presumed it was her husband following to give her phone to her, or being suspicious. Then again, he didn't appear during the time there was some DIY shopping going on. Perhaps hubby thinks there is ugly bumping going on. Or it wasn't him and I'm an idiot.
