These days, my only advice is just to get a quote. My L494 Range Rover Sport I insured no problem for around £800, where many other people can't get insurance or are having quotes come back at 4x the price, if not more.

Depends on the age, location and experience of the driver. My 20yr old son paid £760 to insure the Jazz this year.
His first premium after passing was £1200 but that was before insurance companies jumped on the high inflation bandwagon.

I took on my ex mothers in laws old car when she wanted rid of it, tidied it up for my 18 year old daughter for once she passes her test. A 2005 Mitsubishi Colt.

Although a decent little motor the thing is so undesirable she was getting quotes of just £500 odd quid to insure it in her name at 18! I thought it would be treble that.

Picked this beauty up for £1350.
I’m a big French car fan and the C6 has always been on my list of cars to own.
It drives fantastic, has 10 months MOT, full service history and is just an amazing car to waft around it.

There is something to be said for running a big smoker badge as a shed, I'm not going back to small cars now the E Class has ruined it for me, the future is wafting.

So, having had two C5’s and two Peugeot 607’s (all purchased within shed budgets) I’ve always lusted for a C6 as the ultimate modern Citroen.

This C6 came up for sale locally and given that they usually go for around £3-4K, the listed price of £1500 was an absolute bargain.

Luckily I’m a dab hand at finding bargains and I was quick to message the seller and arrange a viewing. I left a deposit and did a deal at £1350!

The car came with a few minor niggles (EML light on, handbrake is faulty) but apart from that she drives wonderful, having had £1200 spent on it recently overhauling the suspension as well as a service.

My plans are to give it a proper clay, machine polish etc and get the timing belt sorted on it (quoted £600 from main Citroen dealer!). She’s not the ‘top spec’ with the full leather reclining rear seats but she does come with Sat Nav and more importantly the JBL hifi system and all the other gizmos that came standard.

I know the looks are slightly marmite but I absolutely love the design and think it stands out from 90% of the usual cars on the road. I can’t help but turn back to look at her whenever I park up and walk away!

I’ll certainly be keeping her anyhow, given I’ve gone through 14 cars in the last 5 yrs!

I'm in the process of ordering a new electric Lexus, properly abused by my family and parents due to shedding. They hate me cuz I drive cheap, old and somehow reliable cars and make them embarrassing in the public (my mother and wife's words hehe). Anyway, the ordering EV process not quick so I found this little fella.

2005, petrol, manual. CAT D due to cosmetic issue (I've seen the documents and damage, body scratch big time). Two previous owners, first owner a priest thanks to Church of England a decade of neat Mercedes maintenance. 2nd owner, nicest fella, been using for years really.

All in all, 1200 GBP, wish me luck as usual! biggrin
