1. Any guesses about what TVR might have been storing in their part of the factory?

2. Is this part of the factory, the same part where prototyping work was being/to be undertaken ?
1. All the trophies they 'won' at Le Mans as sponsors?

2. Yes. The 'wing' as it is being called. The completed part in this old Google pic.

Of all the things they’ve done/haven’t done putting a sponsorship sticker on a car and basking in the dedication and hard work of others is pathetic and distasteful… even disgraceful… makes my blood boil and teeth itch… Peter Wheeler was a rogue but in a way that had an element of honesty to it… lying is acceptable if you do it in an honest fashion. I now have no idea what I’m talking about….
Here’s my pickled shallots smile

On your country estate next to Sandringham, do you have an ice house to store all that yummy produce?

m4tti, good to hear from you ! I'm still here.

I actually pulled my deposit a few weeks ago and already got my money back. But judging from my recent stock market timing, that can only mean the car will be actually be produced biggrin

Still wish them all the best and will quite likely be tempted to get back if they actually build it. Although a lot has changed in the past few years and maybe when (if) the time comes, I'll find out that I'm just done with cars. We'll see, I'm easy.

Can you put on your lycra gear Peter and pedal on down to Griffith House, Walliswood and tell us all about the exciting stuff that's happening at TVR headquarters?

wink
Going to Horsham this morning and can come back that way. Will put my nose in and expect to see everything exactly the same but you never know…..

I notice that when you look at the factory location on Google maps, it no longer comes up with the title "TVR Factory" when you zoom in!!

This goes to explain why Peter has such a high (hehe) post count....
He either has an iphone or his trouser pockets are too tight.

If that is true, it does at least show intent... why else lug it all the way over there.

Saves on storage costs. They were no doubt renting storage, so if the Welsh then offered them some free storage, it makes sense.

It doesn't really show any intent, because they are not producing anything related to "old TVR", so they won't be using anything that they bought from Smolenski.

They probably have his school exercise book with his lines in it, that his mum probably made him write:

"I must do due diligence before I buy a business."

What on earth do you think Smolenski had to sell other than the badge ?
All the cars on the line went to Multipart , all the spares that weren't stolen went to Multipart ... virtually everything else was left at Bristol Avenue or went in the skip... even Nikolai suit was nicked smile .

This is taken from a Pistonheads interview with Les Edgar from 2013:

PH: But you couldn’t even build those cars again, even if you wanted to, right?

LE: “Why couldn’t we build them again? Of course we could. We own everything to do with the cars, we bought everything lock stock and barrel. We can build what we want to build really. The point is not that. The point is we wouldn’t want to relaunch those cars. We’re not building a company on nostalgia. We’re building on what people want to buy. And we understand what people probably want to buy has got a lot to do with the DNA and what they could buy before.

PH: What did the sale include?

LE:“Everything. I’m not going to tell what they are, but yes there are a substantial amount of mechanical items, they cover a wide breadth of parts. We bought everything that was left of TVR.”

PH: Do you have the jigs and moulds?

“I can’t say – it’s covered by confidentiality. The agreement signed by myself and Nikolai contains some stringent confidentiality provisions.”

So you believe everything "he" says ? hehe

We all know Peter Wheeler didn't sell everything TVR to Nikolai in the first place smile

Les Edgar isn't stupid. Of course he bought more than just the rights to the name. He wants to protect the name that he has, so it's pretty obvious that he has the rights, jigs, moulds, know how etc. to the previous cars, if only to stop them being sold to someone else, that 3rd party using them and causing confusion.

Wheeler did sell everything to Smolenski, except the freehold of the factory. He retained that and leased it to Smolenski, probably because he leased it to TVR Engineering Ltd., when he was both the landlord personally, and the major shareholder and MD in the tenant company. It's common business practice.
