Was driving through the lovely area of Birmingham that Platinum Executive Travel operates in this afternoon. As i approached the showroom I could see 2/3 car transporters waiting on the road and then noticed a police van outside the showroom and what looked like a police officer supervising a PET G63 being loaded on to a truck! Wonder what's gone on there
Coventry Road luxury car hire firm raided in police and tax probe Blimey, £1.7m in unpaid taxes!
That is next level irony. A company that was set up to pay taxes (I shall leave it there) ...not paying taxes!
Mans so popular he has his own section on the Website

Top Gear have a first drive with the incredible T-50

Amazing to think Shmee could've popped his money into one of those, but instead went for a Zenvo and its odd rear wing. You realise what a fail that was now.
We’ve all been there…..

How many people were daft enough to buy a Zenvo?

The T-50 was too much money at £2.3+m, the T-33 is the same price as the Zenvo was/is £1.3m - £1.4m.

I think he said in a Stradman video that they’ve sold about 15 cars.

Makes you wonder how a company like that can keep going for so long with at most about $20m in sales.

I do wonder how the maths work when they only make 2 cars per year.

There's no way he bought it. It just makes no sense in any of the metrics he often refers to.

The Top Gear T50 video today was class. I could just feel his excitement. What a car, so much want. I never watch anything twice but with this I will make an exception. The engine noise at high revs is genuinely 'epic' in the real meaning of the word rather than the usual YouTube hyperbole.

^^^ have to agree. The T50 doesn’t do much for me but the review, his enthusiasm and the noise made it a compelling watch.

In the present day, it is, frankly, a minor miracle that something like the T.50 ever got built. I've had numerous convestations with friends over the weekend - all having watched various videos of the car - with some very nice cars themselves who all say this is one of the few 'new' cars they have truly fallen for.

The business is loss-making and supported by its parent company.

They had been making money, but a decision to shift sales and marketing in-house at the beginning of 2019 didn’t go well, although part of that can be attributed to the pandemic. Previously, the cars had been produced and sold to a foreign sales company, which handled all of the sales work while the company itself concentrated on development and production.

The company’s primary source for selling cars is attending trade fairs (something that clearly suffered during the pandemic), and that appears to be a key component of the deal they have with Tim.

It does make you wonder how they are going to make the planned 100 Aurora's, by all accounts they are starting production in 2025 with deliveries the following year.

For what it doesn't, I can even overlook some of the design bits I find challenging. What a thing, we should celebrate this kind of thing being made regardless. Now.... where did I put that spare £2.3 million

There's a lot of cars where you can joion the dots and figure out, interpolate from other stuff, what the experience of being driver or passenger is like. This is definitely not one of those.

There are not many cars around that genuinely have character of their own.

I like how it's F1 DNA is obvious and how understated it looks. The fan on the rear however, just looks awful. Subjective I know. It's a shame we won't see them race or develop a long tail version as they did with the F1. I was working in the Formula Opel Euroseries when the F1's raced and they were simply awesome to see, but especially hear at full chat. The Zenvo however, looks like something you might see in an Adam C video, based on an MR2.
