Only comfortable for 4 though - the middle rear sear isn't great for a long distance.

A Defender 130 would be my choice - depending on how much luggage you need to take......

but you will be distracted by the au pair's eye make-up for 10 hours cloud9

The arm rest will deflect some of your wife's punches when she catches you smile .

Tesla Model X comes in a 6 seat variant I believe. Never been in one but the seats look comfy

The green Merc GLS 63amg at clive sutton would be my weapon of choice!

The rearmost seats can be operated individually, chuck the smallest child back there and load up the boot.

Also the OP no?
And assumptive of their preferences as well.
And their social class too.

I used to have an Irish builder neighbour who had an au pair. Not sure he could afford a T50!

OP might be an Italian stablehand rather than a Ferrari owner? biggrin

ha ha , Don't think there is any chance of that , wife's a size 6 /8 Au pair probably a size 18 yikes rather strangely also a Gymnast coach ??

Anyway think I've found the solution , borrowing a friends Jaguar Sovereign XJR LWB 4.2 Supercharged , DVDs in the back should keep the kids busy , Wife in the middle ....which wont please her , don't think the au pair will fit in the middle seat , its only done 19k , immaculate ,condition

He's happy he's going to drive my E type

biggrin

Lexus LM. Get the 6 seat option. 4 people travel in proper chairs. Fold down one of the 3rd row seats so there is decent luggage space. 1 person can sit in the remaining rear most seat.

Prob can stick the wife back there, 2 kids in the middle row and Au Pair upfront with you? biggrin

Was going to suggest the same.

Or the new Toyota Century.

In reality it'd be a Bentley or a FFRR.

I'm confused, why are you taking the au pair's family to Switzerland?

tbh its been a nightmare , Wife found au pair a couple of months ago 38 Swiss , on the face of it pleasant enough , ive been at work overseas and wife needed someone to help , While she started her business , mainly for the kids ,

Turned out the au pair doesn't really like kids all that much and doesn't get out of bed tll afternoon , combined with her appetite ...... lets not go there , driving wife nuts ,

and the emotional baggage , she seems to have had a fair share of failed relationships , anyway I got home last week , and its been a hell of an atmosphere , tried to calm things down ... but we live next door to a rural pub .... so drink

was going to take her to the airport but she suddenly she doesn't like Flying !! , So i suggested a road trip , Stop off at Bruges then on to Switzerland , will be a nice break , then head off skiing with Cousins in Bavaria

she's a chocoholic .... I think the "all you can eat in a Dumon" chocolatier has swayed the argument .... and i get a few Belgian beers

I think space would trump ‘luxury’ as long as the car is reasonable with 5 people and a long journey. The Bentayga comes in a 7 seat option so perhaps that might work. I’d rather take a Ford Galaxy than a Toyota Century or FFRR in this instance.

I’ve done 4 adults and kid and 3 Adults and 2 kids on long journeys. The middle of the rear bench, you probably have 30 mins max before people sitting there start moaning. If you are sitting for hours, you’d also want space, so 2 people per row is ideal.

I know my question was a stupid attempt at comedy but thanks for the answer.

Sounds like this individual's nickname should be "Cuckoo".

Needs kicking out frankly. Au pair, doesn't like kids, stays in bed till whenever, eats you out of house and home, won't cooperate with the employer's request to take a flight. Sounds like a recalcitrant mardy teenager.

Blimey.

Or a ticket on the Eurostar and across Europe on the train?
