Just seen the 2024 result.
Congrats to the winner. As always some of the achievements these blokes do are amazing.
Just a shame the TV coverage is only shown at Christmas.
Eddie Hall has some blogs on his YouTube channel showing the individual event results.
I can imagine it's a fun few days as a spectator.
Thanks for not giving it away. I really like it as part of Christmas/NY TV but it is a bit odd to wait that long. For ages I didnt even realise the delay was that big.Congrats to the winner. As always some of the achievements these blokes do are amazing.

Still look forward to watching it play out a Christmas.
Dunno when the current UK broadcast deal runs out but hopefully there is room and £££ put up to encourage both C5 to continue with their Christmas format and live coverage of some sort - I suspect online streaming PPV is the future here over traditional live sports broadcasters or their PPV.
Big strongman fan here and gone from being an avid Xmas watcher to following the events on social channels over the last few years.
It was nice to see a decent crowd watching it there this year. I always found it odd that they fill 10k seater stadiums for Giants Live events but for WSM you'd have a few hundred people there at the most.
What's been quite eye opening is the amount of interaction the official WSM posts get on socials like Instagram. Some posts this week have been getting 40k + likes which has got me thinking that with the apparent growth in popularity, surely there's going to be a tipping point where they make the jump from televising at Xmas to live coverage.
On another note, I've recently read the Stoltman Brothers' book 'Lifting' and can't recommend it enough. Such a huge amount of respect for the two of them, particularly Luke.

Giants Live have nailed that one day fast turnaround format that suit a mixed stadium crowd.I agree the fan base is there (USA based and travelling) or at least should be to have larger crowds at WSM that must be slower given all the heats and final events would destroy everyone if ran any faster than 2 days/rest/2 days.
But it is not beyond WSM to tidy up their act to nail every heat and final event down to a specific time slot to suit live broadcasting/streaming better. The athletes would adapt fine just as they do for all the dicking about and variance of how they run it now.

What's even odder is that tickets for Giants Live are around a £100 a pop, but the tickets for WSM are free.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
