Car SOS - how good are their restorations?

I was glad that it was a modified TR7, but I think the hardtop & wheels made it look awful. Most TR7 race cars look pretty good.
But, they did a good job on it and the owner really appreciated it and that's the main thing.
I assume the hardtop was the owners original one, so couldn't really be swapped. The wheels needed to be silver and much wider though. But, they did a good job on it and the owner really appreciated it and that's the main thing.

Agreed, hardtop was awful, but I’ve not seen the bonnet slightly ajar before, additional cooling for the enlarged engine I assume. Not a good look either, that, the roof and the duck tail did it for me.But, they did a good job on it and the owner really appreciated it and that's the main thing.
I can understand it was not everyone’s cup of tea, I think most people on here watch it because they have an interest in ‘classics’ my self included. Add to this, there was not much in the way of restoration probably means it was also of less interest.
This may sound harsh, but I think the family, are not the kind of people most posters on here can relate to, none the less, that doesn’t make them any less deserving.
As an aside, did anyone notice Richard Hammond’s (I think) MGB GT parked outside; also some very tasty motors inside of various marques.

Doesn't look like the new engine size has been reported to DVLA either. This may sound harsh, but I think the family, are not the kind of people most posters on here can relate to, none the less, that doesn’t make them any less deserving.

Turns out the chap who had it done is now at end of life, such a shame.
