Could well have done Adam, but come on it’s more likely the sheer incompetence of Tuchel. Defending a one goal lead away from home with minutes to go you’d be throwing more attackers on not strengthening the defence as that suits our resident thread imbeciles’ thought processes.
Doesn’t really matter though as it’s constantly clear that a few thread contributing United “supporters” but I prefer to term them as “fans” could do far better jobs than either Tuchel or ETH despite never working in football and I doubt have reached the upper echelons in their own industries something both ETH and Tuchel have comfortably done. I’m speculating on the final point but happy to proved wrong but that would mean being less anonymous but angry small men that have to argue online are far happier with the anonymity.
I’m going with small man for LF3553 particularly as he likes to ride a super bike with a flip up number plate too avoid speeding convictions in Cyprus as he knows best and Cypriot laws don’t apply to his bike riding. Deduced by 5 minutes of looking at his post history, well it screams . IMO. OBVS. Perhaps he does know best but given his prowess when it comes to football knowledge I doubt it.
Please enjoy my flounce.

It’s the same when fans shout that players are rubbish and coaches are rubbish. They obviously aren’t rubbish, as it’s extremely difficult to be a professional footballer and a coach. Things might not be working for them at the moment, but they aren’t rubbish. Same with ETH he isn’t a st manager, he has shown he can be successful with his time at Ajax and CL, and then his first season with us. The second season has been terrible, but he isn’t a st manager. Just things aren’t working for him right now. He might get sacked from us, but I have no doubt he will be successful elsewhere.
At the end of the day it’s our opinion, and we are entitled to that opinion. Not every one has to agree with it though.

In AMG defence it’s very easy for us fans to sit back in hindsight and say they shouldn’t have done this or that. We all have an opinion, but we aren’t the manager in that situation having to making decisions in real time trying to win a game of football. The Kane sub wasn’t wrong, especially if he had an injury and he was replaced by another striker. If you want to criticise a sub it would be the Sane one. But at the time Tuchel made a decision to manage the game and go more defensive and try and win the game. Looking back it was the wrong call, but so could have easily been the right one and fans would be saying how well Tuchel did.

That's all fine, but that's not what AMG said. It’s the same when fans shout that players are rubbish and coaches are rubbish. AMG suggested;
- the opinions that aren't the same as his come from imbeciles
- only people who have worked in football should be allowed to have an opinion about football (in which case may as well close the thread, unless there are any pro footballers or managers posting)
- people who don't agree with his opinion likely haven't reached the upper echelons of their industry
- people who don't agree with his opinion are small
It's one of the thickest most narrow minded things I've read to be honest.

The Tuchel thing is absolutely irrelevant. It was no more than an excuse to insult everyone again because he believes he is better than everyone else. For some reason his opinion should carry a lot of weight, whereas everyone else’s shouldn’t. It’s the same when fans shout that players are rubbish and coaches are rubbish. The he goes off on a rant about me. Which given I appear to have much thicker skin than him says much more about him and his attitude to others than it could ever say about me.
Admittedly, it’s quite funny though. Almost Benitez-esque.

Well he had to do some running in the last game, so..just another in the list of fragile signings.
I still don't quite know what role he was supposed to fill even if fit. Never understood that one. It's a shame he's been injured so much even so, hes a tidy player, but quite how it was going to work out I've still yet to hear.
Shaw's also had another set back apparently.
Please make it stop.

We needed a number 8, and the manager decided to prioritise another number 10 instead, spunking £60mn of the budget on a guy who'd have been available for a free as of next month....I still don't quite know what role he was supposed to fill even if fit. Ten Hag waxed lyrical about how Mount is a complete midfielder and within about 3 games of realising he's not a number 8 he dropped him.
We upped him from £80k a week to £240k a week, and we've had a total of 700 minutes from him.
£60mn for 700 minutes of football for someone we could have had for free. Even by our standards that's a bad one.
On the injuries, there are some simple facts below;
- we had more games last season
- we spent less time on the training ground last season as a result of point 1
- the more time we've had between games and the more time we've spent on the training ground, the more injuries we've got
If we miss out on Europe altogether next season I dread to think how many extra injuries we can accumulate above and beyond the ones from this season given the extra time on the training pitch. Clearly they are doing something very very wrong out there, the more time we have training the more injuries we get.
The Mount thing got me wondering so went back to around this time last year on the closed thread. It got even more interesting reading the comments post Cup Final amd what we thought about the upcoming season, link for that.

Interesting, at least I'm consistent;
Sunday 4th June 2023
I'd give EtH a B for this season.
Plus points;
Home form superb
Trying to implement a style of play, something we've not had for ages
Handled Ronaldo situation superbly
Qualified for top 4, which met expectations (6th place previous year and £250mn spent should = top four)
Won the league cup, which exceeded expectations
Improvements to Shaw and Rashford in particular
Management of Garnacho who seems to be a bit of a troublesome character in some ways that we don't have full visibility of
Negative points;
Away form against big sides absolutely woeful. We got 1 point more than an under 8's girls team would get.
Overall highly questionable (to poor?) record in the transfer market, so far
Massive lack of goals
That 7-0 is a big black mark
Bit of a mini collapse at the end of the season
Stubborn persistence with things that are clearly proven not to work (Wout at 10, Bruno on the right wing)
Separately I think on Mount, many of us were happy to see some legs coming into midfield as he runs about a lot. It's a shame that he doesnt seem to offer much else on the rare occasions he'd played.
Watching the Madrid/Bayern game, the mobility, tenacity and aggression of Laimer was such a contrast to our midfielders. We need to sign 1 number 6/DM with bite/mobility/legs (to replace Casemiro) and 1 number 8/CM who can do a combination of run/kick/tackle to replace Mount/Eriksen. Eriksen I assume we will give away for free, Mount I assume maintains status as permacrock/benchwarmer.

I think an element is down to the fact we are desperate for players to come back, people are having to be played when not 100% recovered. Players like Evans for example forced to play when he failed a fitness test in the morning. I still don't quite know what role he was supposed to fill even if fit. Never understood that one. Given I can't see anyone back from injury, we could be down to 11 senior pros on Sunday in a proper miss mash team.
I don't mind the mount signing, I think he would have been a good player for us. Just had terrible luck with injuries this season.
If Mount was £20mn or free as a backup to Bruno then that's fine.
The problem is he was signed as a marquee signing, using a large part of our budget, with the idea of the following midfield being functional
Casemiro
Mount Bruno
Now I don't work in football, but there's not a hope in hell that's a midfield that works in the premier league.
You've got a slow plodder whose legs were gone last season, and then 2 guys who of course have their attributes but are (a) weak as piss (b) can't tackle and (c) aren't know for their ball retention in tight spaces
You can't plan to be a possession team with that midfield, they aren't good at keeping possession
You can't plan to be a transitions team with that midfield, to be good at transitions you need strong/mobile destroyers who can press, break the game up, etc
It's a nothing midfield yet was our plan A coming into the season with the majority of our budget spent on making it happen. It might work in the Dutch league or whatever, but teams like Wolves/Fulham etc have a field day due to their physicality and mobility against it.

Down to 8th now. Can’t improve on that tomorrow unless we beat Arsenal by 16 goals. West Ham just 2 points behind although they’ve played all but their last game, which will be against a City team probably needing something. Brighton could overhaul us if they beat Chelsea midweek as their last match is against us.
