RE: Prescott Hill Climb Sunday Service 19/05
Discussion
It was a great day, took some time to pop up from the Celicaclub bit to have a perusal around the Pistonhead cars, spoke to one or two of you at some points
during the day. Some great cars, that MX5 was absolutely nuts, and the white 4C looked and sounded fantastic! And agree that the Stratos that was present today was incredible.
I had some good fun in the Accord on the hill, handled great and with proper track-suitable tyres would be fantastic I reckon.

I’m far from an expert but I’d assume that track tyres would be worse. Without a couple of warmup laps to get some heat in them track rubber won’t be In it’s operational window and assume better off on a normal UHP road tyre? Had a bit of a stressful start to the day myself but all came good in the end.
I did turn up first thing in the Nomad but parked up and found I had a massive fuel leak. Not wanting to become a fireball or blow an engine I scampered off on the 80 mile round trip to change cars and came back in Mrs Will’s Mini, still fun just a different kind. Slightly sad I couldnt quite get that first left hander flat out.
Good range of cars there today and nice to chat to a few of you.

That's right, yes apologies I meant something a bit more performance orientated rather than the Rainsports I have on the car,but not out and out track only spec. The fronts are almost due to be replaced to be honest.I use them as the car is technically a 'daily' -ish motor, but something softer and grippier would be excellent there even without the option of a warm up,,but in the real world I need something with a bit of longevity!MDifficult said:
Absolutely fantastic day, lovely to meet a few of you - I thought the whole event was superbly organised compared to last year, plus the weather played ball spectacularly.
Personal favourites were the Stratos (not a replica) and the Clio V6 turbo - and an honourable mention to the Golf R32 for best engine note of the day… absolutely stunning, even better than the Maserati.
Plus.. kept it out of the gravel! Result!
A little onboard of what was probably my best run - (I played very safe!)
Thanks for the shout out! (r32) thats very kind and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thankyou for the brilliant upload. And the editing for cars is great! You are correct guessing LC500, that was me and we had an excellent day!
You’re welcome! Did you hear the collective ‘phwoar’ from the crowd when you changed down for the hairpin? Absolutely wonderful thing, bravo for bringing it and glad I guessed correctly

A small selection of highlights - featuring a few PHers I hope...
By no means the best noise there yesterday, but I'm still happy you persuaded me to get the Akrapovic downpipe all those years ago. Another perfect petrolhead day out, wonderful weather and such a beautiful location, especially at this time of year. And epic fun to drive of course. All the better for the date change from early April too.
A smaller turn out in the lower paddocks than last year, but as always a great variety of Pistonheads cars to look at, and people to chat to.
Perfectly organised thanks to Dom and the Prescott team, everything flowed so well that there was time for extra hill runs in the afternoon before heading home. Sorry you couldn't be there Ben, but huge thanks to you and PH for arranging. Can we do it again next year?
Hi All!
I hope you all enjoyed your day with us at Prescott - Fantastic to see a wonderful selection of cars across the paddock. Although entries were a little down and of course a few no shows due to issues (it happens I know) we still had a great day on the hill, and not a single red flag which I believe is a first since covid for non-comp days so thank you for your attitude on the hill.
Keep the photos coming they are great to see and hope to see you back on the hill in the future.
Thanks,
Dom (the guy who gave you your wristband)

One of my favourite car days out so far, thanks for putting on such a great event! Will be back for sure, any inside info on when the school dates become available for next year? 👀I hope you all enjoyed your day with us at Prescott - Fantastic to see a wonderful selection of cars across the paddock.
