Sounds like a recipe for disaster, so if you're stood at the front the near side is 'right' and if you are stood a the back it's 'left'...so if you want a front and back light for the same side one is a left and the other a right? silly
What are you talking about? They would either both be left or both be right lights.

Left and right sides are always as if you are sat in the car facing forward. Common sense, really.
Exactly, why does it need to be made any more complicated?!?

Maybe read the comments in the YT video as the bodyshop replied about the light.

However, I would have told Mat on handover or with hours (or next day), not wait days/weeks…..

Yes. I used to write parts lists, and we always used LEFT and RIGHT (when viewed from the rear), as it avoids confusion with LHD and RHD vehicles.

As long as the parts list nomenclature is consistent, it is up to you to orientate yourself.

Are you seriously suggesting that the windscreen wiper in front of a RHD driver should be offside in UK, nearside in Germany, LEFT if viewed from the normal repair position and RIGHT if viewed from the position where you may have noticed it were missing? banghead

In the parts' list it would be RIGHT, possibly FRONT, RIGHT.

I think the GT3 looked stunning in Rubystone, great choice of colour
Yep, one of my favourite Porsche colours, was surprised when he revealed it as I didn't think it'd be his kind of thing.
It's a colour that only looks good on a 964 RS to me. It's just looks wrong on any other car.
I saw this in Tewkesbury Porsche last year and was very tempted.

Now lost in the many comments since (or been deleted), anyway basically there were time constraints for handover and maybe forgotten to mention light at handover but intended to tell Mat as soon as they could etc…. I’ll leave the “as soon as they could” for your judgement.…. Later that day, or next day would be fine I would say and I would believe the genuine mistake in forgetting to tell Mat. If it was many days or a week etc. then maybe not…….

Mat has also put his comments at the top about this very issue and is happy with the bodyshop, done loads of jobs for him in the past etc.

They could arrange the handover of a GT3, but couldn't tell him they broke the light?

Obviously Matt isn't bothered about it, but you can't blame people for watching the video and calling it out as shown.

'No time' is clearly BS.

Lets see how 'not bothered' he is when he needs painting next time...

Only got to see his latest crash video last night.

Love the colour, I wonder if in real life it looks like the 1970s Triumph magenta so popular with hairdressers in the day. Triumph did some amazing colours and they look even better today when there's so many variations of grey around us.

He was so lucky for that off not to have been more serious but as I've mentioned before, he needs to stop driving like a dick before he hurts himself. This isn't BMX. He really has balls though. I don't think I could have taken that at that speed on a PlayStation. And shortly after, he seems completely unphased by what's happened to him.

Great video with MA back on form again.

Love it.

Spinning in a field off a track would have been like a nice cup of tea and a sit down compared to when he put his Lambo in a ditch after felling a telegraph pole and clpping a tree. To be fair he looked less bothered about that than most of us would too.

Well its a risk for him, if they do good paint with good turnaround times then no reason to go elsewhere.

They won't be trying this again. It was probably the apprentice who has never heard of MA worried about losing his job over it who hid the damage.

Absolutely loved the colour. However, I know I would walk out one day, look at it and think "what was I thinking?" and regret not just getting a silver one.

But it does look awesome.

Although it was a fast off it was relatively flat if that makes any sense. The biggest bit of luck was the car didn’t dig in and start rolling. With regards to the damaged light if he’s ok with it then good for him. The paint job on the car looked really nice in the few close ups so he understands that st happens. Seems a good guy who is taking his friends and family on his journey with him.

I've worked with a lot of Skateboarders / BMX / Extreme sports guys over the years and they are wired completely differently compared to teh rest of us regarding risk and personal safety. They see broken bones as a badge of honor.

If the bodyshop damaged my car, I'd expect them to call me just after it happened to discuss how best to make it right (including whether timing was an issue), not repair it and try to remember to tell me when they handed it back! But then I suspect the engagement in the video has probably helped pay for the replacement, so...
