I started on this last night and seen 2 episodes so far.
I'm enjoying it but feel the characters are generally weak and unconvincing but this doesn't really take anything away from it really.

I just didn't gel with this series. The main character is supposed to be a wily old geezer who has made millions, but he just came across as naive and stupid. I started on this last night and seen 2 episodes so far.

Best summary I've read of a series for a long time. 3 episodes in and this sums it up perfectly. Totally unconvincing story and characters but I still want to find out what happens to them. te. Really ste. But watchable..... The one bit that is convincing is that in real life, you do come across people who get rich despite being stupid and naive and when it all comes crashing down around them, they refuse to accept it's v happening.
Looking forward to the rest of the episodes over the weekend.

I can't quite remember such a bad case of miscasting. The reviews described it as b-movie schlock, which is sometimes just what you need on a Friday night when you want to disengage your brain.

Its a film which can just be enjoyed for what it is, set in the future with AI, thought provoking yes, just like a number of films that are set in the future. I've not watched it but I cannot believe we got this and not a film based on Titanfall (the game), which this appears to almost be. Titanfall 2 especially had a great single player story. Such a shame.
In some ways, maybe it's for the best. So often films of games take just the broad premise of the game but no more, and people ask why they didn't just call the film something else. Perhaps in this case, they did. Also, as I recall, Atlas was a Titan in Greek mythology.

Same here. I thought that it was dull, cliche ridden and formulaic, with the feel of having been written by a committee with plot point boxes to tick. Well, when I say watched, I mean I watched the action sequences and skipped through most of J Lo's attempts to act.

American Underdog - The true story of Kurt Warner, an undrafted NFL player who ends up winning the super bowl.
A nice, feel good story although it is difficult to believe that the actor who plays Kurt is at College as he is 40 years old in real life.

So just finished Dexter, I'd seen the first 4 seasons weekly when it first came out then stopped and didn't go back to it, so felt like time to rewatch including the later ones that I heard weren't so good.
First four seasons - still pretty good though some weak bits. They were inconsistent with how characters worked at different points of the story.
Season 5, diversion compared to the previous but felt quite solid plot wise, though noticeable uptick in guest/known actors.
Season 6, not too bad but noticeable decline. Motivations seemed to have got skewed.
Season 7 - was fairly obvious which 2 actors had recently got a divorce & the writers (or someone else) put in a lot of scenes forcing dialogue pairing them together. Plot forgettable.
Season 8 - it was like there were different teams taking it in turns to write episodes & even scenes, and each would st on the previous bit of plot and take a different direction. Fragmented & chaotic and stupid.
Still not bad but I remember it being better. Shame they didn't have the courage to commit properly to their lead character and were inconsistent with it. And obvious that whoever wrote it had never watched any police or crime shows!

Engaging, if not the most original, story.

Well you only watched the first four seasons last time. I am doing a re-watch myself at the moment and I still think the first season is extremely good. They commit to the character, and so does the actor, and you don't get the watered down feeling of some later seasons.
