Alcohol, and related illnesses, should be taken a LOT more seriously in this country and I do wonder if a Scandinavian model of control should be implemented - I may not be totally impartial
I'll assume you've never been on holiday with Scandinavians where alcohol isn't hugely expensive and controlled then? They're worse than the Brits tbh.

Origination of the phrase 'getting pissed'.
Vast quantities of vodka were also consumed on that trip. Let's just say it was an incredibly memorable 'cultural exchange' to Northern Finland back when I was a teen.

Another possibly unpopular opinion...
Loyalty is not a good thing
If the person or organisation is right, there's no need for loyalty.
If the person or organisation is wrong, why should you be loyal to them?
Working for a company that used to be brilliant but since a PE buyout is becoming less so, I'm struggling to disagree with this....Loyalty is not a good thing

Fair enough, several times when I’ve felt settled and secure that illusion has been taken away when times got tougher. Loyalty is not a good thing

I know I’m nothing more than a number for any company I’ve worked for, and I treat them in much the same way.
Good companies still exist, i'm fortunate enough to work for one such.
The problem with many people these days at work is they forget that there is one person in the company who is really important, its not them or the boss its the customer, without whom there is no company and no job.
Amazing how many people at alll levels can't grasp that simple fact.

Yep totally agree, even the man sat atop the pyramid in Tokyo would be unseated if our customers went elsewhere, so they come above all else. It's amazing how many people at work think our customers are a pain the arris and we could do without them. The problem with many people these days at work is they forget that there is one person in the company who is really important, its not them or the boss its the customer, without whom there is no company and no job.

Uh-huh
And then how would you get paid?
Unreal
