I really wish a party would come along where ramming morons off illegal Ebike (which they shouldn’t be on in the first place) was a positive thing

They’d very quickly learn

Young kez from here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... had an interest in them, so you get an ideal of their riders

My local FB group is dominated by 'Councils fault'....

- A local community group announce that a new tourist attraction/idea funded elsewhere has gained planning permission and will go ahead - first 10 responses are variations on 'The bloody council should fix potholes not waste time & money on such things'.

- A school posts up their new raised beds are doing well (funded by local supermarket) and first 10 responses are 'bloody council wasting money on this instead of potholes'.

- A new speed limit sign and some white road paint applied where people have been knocked down by drivers while using the crossing to get to supermarket - 'bloody council wasting money on paint when they could sort the roads and potholes out'.....

- A set of lambs was out last week as they had escaped through the fence. Guess who's fault it was as fence 'owner', and guess what was suggested fence 'owner' should actually spend their money on.

- Someone's parcel went missing - guess who's fault as the road name sign is old and worn? (and of course has a pothole nearby...)

It is like people think
a) everything is the councils fault and
b) potholes and roads are far, far more important than things like kids education, safe pedestrian crossings, attracting business, undertaking legal duties such as planning etc.

Amazing.

I live in a borough made up of two roughly equally sized towns. It is always the council's fault for spending money on the other town.

Much the same here yet none of them respond favourably when you share the link to report potholes to the council... because bizarrely that's also someone else's job, like they have a team driving around proactively checking every road.

Local grade 1 listed museum/hall is being renovated. Funding has been supplied by the Arts Council. Yet apparently the town council should be spending the money on homeless and of course potholes. Certain people don't understand the concept that just because it has 'council' in the name it isn't actually from the town council.

That's my level of humour right there. On the local FB page to my hometown today there was a post about a cat washed up dead on the beach. I really wanted to tag an old school mate with "You owe me a tenner, effin' told you cats can't swim!" but my missus knew I was up to no good when I started laughing at my phone and nipped the idea in the bud.

One one mine recently....

"Can anyone go and pick up a canoe for me in Gloucester? Will pay £90 to cover petrol and time."

I live in SW west London, the round trip itself will take 4hrs, thats without stopping to load a poxy canoe on to the roof!

Unbelievable Geoff

Someone's car has been hit and the offender has driven off.
Shouty post all in capitals with "I DONT WANT TO POST UR REG BUT IF THATS WHAT IT TAKES"
I've said go through insurance, that's what it's there for.
I can absolutely guarantee they don't have a reg number and I'll be so wrong for suggesting this.

Lol on next door last week someone did the whole threatening "I have camera footage from my car of who did this, you have 48 hours to own up or I take it to the police"

Most of the replies were people saying they didn't believe them.

Does a Ring doorbell record continuously then? I’d have thought it only wakes up the camera when someone pushes the button. But maybe not if they’d be useful at capturing passers-by.

Don’t have one but I think it captures motion, so people near by but not 24/7

It’s all bluff any way

Round here the Facebook gods first port of call for most dramas is ring door bell footage

They have motion detection.

Who'd want a video of that?

We had cctv of someone keying a neighbours car. They took a good few minutes doing it, checking they had done every panel and even looking at the camera at one point. She was wearing her dressing gown (it was 10pm, but summer, so still fairly light) and had her dog trotting behind her on a lead. It was very surreal and actually turned out to be a "friend" of the neighbour. No Facebook threats, but the Police requested a copy of our cctv, which they then lost just before the court case, so I had to trawl through my laptop to find my deleted copy. No idea what happened to the culprit, but the car (2008 Audi A3) still hasn't been repaired. I assume an insurance claim would write it off.
