What are the little things that you treat yourself to every week, or every now and again, that help get you through the working week?

One for me is to go by myself to one of my favourite cafes on a Saturday and/or Sunday morning, enjoy a good coffee, bite to eat and read the newspaper or a novel in peace.

What is yours?

I couldn't read that! It's all foreign!

silly

I like people watching. I was sitting in my car at a motorway services yesterday watching all the harassed parents driving in with excited kids at the promise of a McDonald’s. Or the pensioners confused as to why a random Friday way so busy - Bank Holiday weekend and start of school half-term.

It’s me that is foreign, not the language!

Not sure that should elicit any guilt, seems perfectly pleasant to me.

That's not a guilty pleasure, that's just a pleasure.

There are always lots of jobs to get done at the weekend so taking time out by yourself to do something unproductive and solitary makes me feel a bit guilty - I agree it shouldn’t.

Steak and wine. Health-wise I shouldn’t as often as I do

I'm on board with this. Wine is definitely a guilty pleasure. I don't do steak enough though.

You’ve summed it up perfectly. It’s my biggest (guilty) pleasure too. I just love going on my own to one of three possible cafes. One of them you can watch for dolphins, the others I’ll sometimes take a notebook and just brain dump from the week. Total ‘me’ time.

Cheap low % pissy lager, for some reason I prefer coors, carlsberg, bud lite etc. yes, premium stuff is ‘better’ but not as quenching/crisp on a hot day. I do feel like a council yob buying the stuff from the local 7/11 though hehe
