That’s a lot of money for where it is. Nicely done mind, albeit very London spec. Probably some Covid buyers having to go back to civilisation with a return to office. Bought 2021 for sub £1m. They haven’t spent anywhere near probably half of that gain and the market I think has moved away from them in that time. Seems bold.

Indeed - suspect that’s what they need to move back to somewhere nearer London…

I’m not saying this is pawn, or nicer: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/133051646#/...

I am saying it’s detached, larger square footage, cheaper, and in Windsor rather than Suffolk. (Edit for location!)

Very close to a shockingly busy road and junction, almost opposite one of the biggest grey concrete monstrosities in the country, which still houses some "interesting" local folks, right under the noisiest part of the Heathrow flight path.

£1.6m for a house on Alma Road. My God. I suppose in its favour it isn't on Albert Road.

Windsor, one of the most over priced and over-rated places to live in the country. I grew up there (went to Windsor Boys' School), regularly visit the place, but would never move back. £1.6m can buy far, far better in the Thames Valley.

It can, but it’s a contrast to the semi in Suffolk, considering Windsor is over-priced. smile

Goodness me, I wish it was a bit more adventurous on the outside but that interior is ultra cool.
My wife would burn it to the ground but I would keep it as is!

Quite like this, £1.75m in Southwold.

Garden is a bit sh*t, and I have a hatred for hot tubs that cannot be expressed sufficiently for now, but...

I think its pretty nice especially the front elevation. Notice they've got a sliding fence at the back of the garden which not sure on, suppose if you didn't like it you'd just always have it closed.

Understand the comments, but you'd never get me living anywhere near the capital.. I love day trip there though.

I hate the popped collar, hunter boots city dwellers who've made Southwold 'their own' but the place has a unique charm, that really won't ever be spoilt (unless it ends up underwater) along with sea air and largely free of any chains it's a really nice place. Plenty of pubs per capita too.

Cost wise, I can't see why people would rather live in the city (I understand why they do, just doesn't make sense to me)....

Ultimately, not my first choice, just thought it has been done nice..

Personally..i'd revist this barn which my olds nearly bought some time back as a top pick for me, just needs to have the interior jazzed up with a bit of thought given to the spaces. Near to Southwold still.

Perhaps not pawn in the true sense, but owned by Fish from Marillion - https://www.simpsonmarwick.com/property/the-studio...
Lovely main space, great garden to retire to.

I mean, how are they different to a pool if you clean them and balance the chemicals properly?

Yes they’re warmer so they need more attention, but a properly maintained one should be clean.

  • I’ve never had one nor will ever for the record but I do have an above ground pool I maintain

Would be expensive at £750k, let alone with a 1 in front of it. Crazy money and I am a big fan of Southwold.

It's a semi. I am struggling to think of anything in life that is good semi.

That's cracking imo and Haddington is (iirc - been while!) a nice place.

Great VFM, I reckon.

Regardless, I really like the interior in it. Except for the lit up signs with expressions like "let's play".

Looking at the floorplan, that's not a lot of house for that money in much of London, let alone Southwold.

"Garden" is laughable.

Here's my pawn submission for this week.

Not for sale, I don't think. On the shore of Lake Garda, photo taken by me the other day -

I wouldn't normally post a photo like this but the location is very public, so I figure no harm is being done.

Bloody love it!
