Surprised no-one has mentioned Kenny Noye yet.
Same sort of likelihood of encountering a total nutter but perhaps a useful reminder that rebuking other drivers achieves nothing positive and is much more likely to result in some sort of retaliation. Particularly risky for women.
I'm with the idea of community service for the tt. 500 hours clearing drains or something similarly pleasant.
I think advising people not to use their horn because of Kenneth Noye is a bit ridiculous. #justsaying. I rarely get out of my car now. The last time being a year or so ago when a cyclist swerved out in front of me and then started claiming I had knocked him off, whilst holding his bike above his head threatening to throw it.
My getting out persuaded him to back off, and he then flagged down passing traffic making the same claims.
All of this was recorded on a dash cam that was in the car when I bought it. Happily still working. I heard nothing from it and suspect the lad was a local “character” trying it on.
Gone are the days of leaping from one’s Capri and exchanging insults or blows with another driver.

Ironically, evidence of that being a safer time to live. Fisticuffs at worse, rather than being stabbed, shot at, or run over. Afterwards, exchanging compliments "a fine upper-cut you have there" and going on your way.It wasn't really like that though was it, sadly.

IIRC Noye and the chap he stabbed knew each other and it wasn’t about road rage.
At the time there was speculation that it was an argument over a drug deal, however Noye was a career criminal and Cameron was a 21 year old kid with no convictions (as far as I know). Not exactly two people moving in the same circles. In addition if you were planning to force a violent criminal to pull over would you do it in a Bedford Rascal with your 17 year old girlfriend at the wheel?
If they had a connection it would likely have come out in the trial.

Also the road was one big track day for young drivers.
But then 2.0L engine was considered a reasonably powerful engine and most of us were in 850-1300cc machines, with power delivery similar to a midrange Kenwood Chef.
But we digress. Getting out one’s car to address a perceived wrong is dangerous territory these days, for several reasons.

I can well imagine why Noye might have claimed road rage. Murder for non-payment of a drugs debt I could imagine being sanctioned more harshly.

Misogynist little wker. Hopefully he learns a lesson - but you don't get on like that without the problem being buried deep within you.iphonedyou said:

Reading the article there does at least seem to be a touch of remorse rather than the whole "It's not against the law to be angry" crap.Horrible man. The woman must have been terrified,
Surprised the DM article left the suspended sentence and driving ban info until the very end. That would have been better placed earlier in the text as a deterrent to so many other road ragers in future.
(I’m originally from Bournemouth. The increase in (sexual) assaults and, last night, 2 stabbings (1 death) on the beach makes it a very sad place to read about.)
