I was caught speeding
Discussion
Just got caught speeding. Not in a town just the end of a sleepy village
No excuse it really was my fault
Just wondered if anyone knows of a way out of this??
I didn't admit to speeding, sat there said I was sorry which I am, took the yellow ticket and he left
Found this www.uk-driving-secrets.com/beat/menu.aspx?afl=11527 do you think it might help??
Any help greatly received

Like you said, it was a righteous tug, so nout else to do but take it on the chin and watch your speed in future, I guess. Am expecting an s-cam letter any day now from a week last friday - be my first points since 1999, just dunno how many yet ( doing over 85 on M6 near Shap when I spotted him, on bridge above, hanging out of the side of a van with wasp-like yellow and black paint job, David Bailey like, legs astride and pointing at me - my own fault too, but I never knew what to look out for. Do now! )

If it is you're first - take it and percive it as warning.
Then arm yourself for next time

From the post it sounds like you were pulled by BiB. In which case, I say take your punishment like a man. You know you were breaking the law and a lawman saw you do it. End of story.
My argument it with the limits that are set and the way they force you to incriminate someone when there are no witnesses except for some stupid box on a leg.

It's still a crime...whether we like it or not...
We just have to face up to it when caught....

the quote is from the latest Starsky & Hutch movie.
Really? I thought you were turning into Judge Dredd for a moment there...

Go to say if I got stopped by a real life plod and got a ticket, then fair does, I don't think I'd try n fight it unless he/she was a real stroppy bugger just out to make the numbers up.
But when it comes to cameras or scalivans, then em, I'll do everyhting I can not to line their purses, even if it costs more in fees than it would in fines. Its legalised highway robbery,. nothing more, nothing less.
I road I travel near the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border has BIG signs up saying how many accidents, how many killed/injured.... and its a fair few. But do they have a "speed" camera there? Do they ! Its a badly engineered road, the typical small town bypass which is on a constant curve where the radius is just tight enuff that you cant "quite" get clear vision for far enough to plan an overtake at the limit. No wonder there are so many accidents. Make the road straighter, with some well defined bends, and it'd be no problem. Is this design deliberate?
Anyway, I digress.... the point being that the cameras area on straight roads which DONT have this accident history - do the math yourself peeps.

Very Simple.
The Scameras are operating illegally. They Cheat Lie and Steal to protect their income and jobs. And it DOES NOT WORK!!!
Sean
Sean..
Why are they illegal? In my force, they are operated by police officers, who although at present time are paid wages by SCP, would still be employed by the police if SCP wasn't there. Consequently, there's no incentive to catch as many to keep their 'income or jobs'.
What exactly doesn't work?
