Ahhh! maybe - but the Sussex P'Hers will be aware and ease off - no nasty NIP's
Thanks for the tip Peter
I'm sure P'hers in Sussex will either have the numption to speed in the appropriate places, the observation skills to spot camera vans and the like and possibly also invest in radar detectors...
Criminals don't have the above and rely on tip offs..

Fair point, but i do not know whether their interest is speed or tax related.
I was doing 75 when i first spotted the van-camera. It was parked in a perfect spot at the bottom of a hill. That's easy revenue. However i got overtaken on the inside 3 times this morning - no cameras or points for that.
(Saw a dog patrol too)

Was the dog patrol with the speed cam? If so, more likely to be an ANPR...
Do we know if the one in this thread IS a speed enforcement operation. Many people don't know the difference between Speed enforcement and ANPR and for the place to be saturated in cops, the ANPR sounds more likely...

The dog patrol was travelling behind a volvo patrol car.
What's an ANPR? (is that a silly question)
Not a silly question at all mate...
ANPR...Automatic Number Plate Recognition System...
Camera in back of police van reads passing number plates...any vehicles that are;
Stolen, wanted by police, owned by disqualified drivers, used in crimes, not on insurance database, no tax etc...are flagged up within a second. Then the info is passed to officers nearby who are usually in high powered vehicles, motorcycles and occasionally armed or dog officers to stop the vehicles..
The result is usually 75% success rate....

I thought you said in another thread that you didn't post "hollier than thou" type posts.![]()
Short memory me thinks
It's is you Quinny with the short memory....If you go to page 2 of the 'Political Message for all to read' thread, you will see that I clearly posted the following:

That's the entire point....I've never appeared holier than thou....quite the opposite. Not quite sure how I've got on your ManTits though ...I've told the truth and also my opinion. That is what can get BiB in the shite.
From now on...there WILL be a danger of me appearing holier than thou....

Good news, surely.
Can anyone tell us what that should translate to as an increase in convictions and clear-ups for those crimes when this year's police stats come out?
I would guess at several times the previous annual figures.
Or am I being wildly optimistic?
And with the police time freed up by ANPR I should hope for similar success in increasing convictions for dangerous driving.
Not just several times recent year's figures which are well down, but several times the previous figures.
Is that too much to expect?
