Is it worth fighting this parking charge notice ?
Discussion
Hi all, just after a bit of advice for my sister, she's parked in lidl today and received a pcn for not parking in a bay.
Now I'm not keen on bad parking but I think this is taking the pee just a bit.
I'd be well miffed if I had got it.
If you zoom in it looks like if she had straightened her front wheels it would have been ok.
Any advice welcome.
Thanks
Jay

Not her fault not many range rover drivers can park, most just abandon their cars in disable, is that a disabled bay? Its yellow unless it the edge of their loading bay.

No it's not a disabled bay, ticket just says not parked correctly in bay.Who is the ticket from?
Euro car parks is company. Usually I'd tell her to ignore it but not sure on rules these days, never had one myself.

Yea don't ignore it they can take you to court now.Euro car parks is company. Usually I'd tell her to ignore it but not sure on rules these days, never had one myself.
Just go to money saving expert forums parking section and select the correct appeal and send it. Plus say your in a marked bay and the fine is a joke. They may have photos of your car as we can't see the other side.
Also call the store manager or go and see him,
They are BPA "

If this ever got as far as court, the principle of "de minimis" would apply, and that should be included in any appeal. It's not even as though the car is encroaching onto another space, or blocking something - the yellow hatching is only there to show that adjacent spaces are at an angle to each other!
ECP may well trot out some nonsense about the Beavis case legitimising parking fines. Well, it did, but only to a point - the Supreme Court judges made it clear that each case would turn on its own merits. In this case commercial justification clearly doesn't exist and no-one has suffered any kind of loss either. Fight all the way.

Any retailer should be grateful for the custom ..not policing how they gain access to the store.
Which is great until people just use shop carparks as free general parking while they're elsewhere, or abandon them sideways like utter inconsiderate dildos.OTOH, that really is taking it too far...

I'd go into the store, show the manager the photo and ask him/her if they'd like you to shop there again.
The thing is she has used them for things for her business for the last four years spending a decent amount every week. turbojay555 said:
Latest update... there's nothing they can do in store so been on phone to head office, they say to email the picture and a photo of receipts to show how much she shops there and they will contact Euro car park.
Thanks everyone for replies will let you know how she goes on.
That's BS - the Store Manager could easily have taken it to head office on your behalf. Thanks everyone for replies will let you know how she goes on.
I would just do that, don't reply to the parking fine company yet. If it goes to POPLA I'd love to see their argument.

Photos of receipts is a bit cheeky! I don't keep mine for more than a few daysThanks everyone for replies will let you know how she goes on.
Even if that's the first time she'd ever shopped there they should be looking after it, any sensible person can see its the parking monitor is a moron.
