I guess this is why the gov't is planning urgent action to make numberplates non-removable with special screws/fastenings. They say it's to prevent numberplate theft and I'm sure that's relevant re cloning, but it's much more in line with their thinking that it's actually to do with this national monitoring system.

It really is incredible that a national "we know where you are" database is founded on bits of plastic that can be obscured, lost or switched, and that in any case only identify the car not the driver. You can see why the gov't is having to erode the "innocent until proved guilty" standard, because otherwise this couldn't work at all.




Non removeable numberplate...... yeah right

I quite like the idea of RFID ones that break as soon as you take them off - mine were going to break very quickly (I wonder if they fit in a microwave!!!)

no I won't streaky as I intend to retire in 8 years! whether I can afford to or not as I feel Iv'e done more than my share so F*@K em all
